I bought this blade by error I wanted one for my table saw.... I know it is not for it but would it be unsafe to use it?

Asked by: Semo
You would have to check for clearance with the blade up , down and tilted all the way, and also the clearance in the insert. The blade is 1/4 inch larger than a normal table saw blade. Other than that try at your own risk!!!

Use a edge guide to be able to help keep it going straight. Go slow with light preshure. I have used it on a project using 3x12's and 4x6's and it worked good. It's about as good as it gets!!!

I made 8 cuts through doubled 2x12 boards (reinforced stair stringers), which was the immediate job I bought the blade for. When putting my (new) Makita circular saw away, I noticed a missing or broken carbide tooth. Upon closer inspection I found that quite a few (8, 10?) carbide teeth were missing or broken. Very mystifying! - the saw had made all cuts relatively effortlessly, cleanly and accurately, exactly as I had expected it would. I immediately inspected the drops from the cuts. In two of the pieces (old stair stringers) I found evidence of small old nails that were cleanly cut through. The major reasons I bought the Diablo blade were 1) I've used Diablo blades before (7-1/4") and they worked perfectly, even cutting old construction with some screws and nails with NO failure. 2) the blade was the right number of teeth to make the relatively fine cut I needed and it advertised "Tri-metal shock resistant brazing allows carbide tips to withstand extreme impact for maximum durability", which I interpreted as being able to cut though just about anything. And BTW, I have a metal shop and all of my new metal cutting tools are carbide or carbide tipped. On the positive side I have to say the blade made all the cuts quite nicely even with damaged teeth. (I determined that the larger nail that it cut through was on the 3rd stringer I cut.) However, I am going to try to return the blade to HD since it is seriously damaged and I do not believe that the little nails it cut through should have caused ANY damage. Quite frankly, I believe this to be a one time manufacturing defect and will probably try to just exchange. Based on my previous (7-1/4") Diablo experience, they can make a very good and durable blade. If I get a new blade and it experiences unexpected tooth failure I will re-post with a withering negative review!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent general purpose blade I recently bought a table saw, and I went ahead and picked up a couple extra blades (this blade and an 80 tooth) to supplement my saw. I gave the blade included with the saw a try the first time I used it, and was a bit disappointed. I went ahead and installed this blade, and it made all the difference in my saw's performance. The blade included with my saw was general purpose, with a tooth count in the 30 tooth range. This blade went through a variety of stock with no problems at all- dimensional studs, 3/4 OSB, and treated 4x4s. I also made some non-through cuts on the 4x4s and this blade performed very well. Cuts were all even with no tool marks or scorching. Cuts were very smooth- I showed my wife one of the cut ends, because I was so impressed, and she commented that the cut surface felt like it was very finely sanded. Couldn't be happier. I test cut some scrap red oak (thin stock) just to see, and experienced the same quality cut.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from blade will wobble this is a very thin blade. it came free with a 10 1/4 skilsaw sawsquatch. i have 2 hand held 10 1/4 circle saws and i tried this blade in both saws to make sure my new skilsaw wasnt defective. it turns out it was the blade, it wobbles pretty bad. i went to long cut rip a 4x4 in half and the saw kept steering off my line. also, on start up, the blade wobbles which distracts from you from hitting your marked line on end cuts. this blade might work in a miter saw pretty good, but not for hand held circle saws. the blade is now sitting in my extra blade box in new condition as an emergency blade. its definitely not my first blade of choice.
