Rated 5 out of 5 by from You have to try this to believe it - excellent for demo work I had to demo our carport recently that was built in the late 60's. Douglas fir wood was old but high quality with a tight grain and they'd made 4 x 6s by nailing a couple of 2 x 6s together with some large 4" nails. Normally I'd be using a wood blade to cut the wood and a metal blade to deal with the nails. Not with this product - I was a little skeptical that the coarser teeth on this blade would deal with nails, but it did exactly that. The other thing that I liked was that the blade didn't buckle and bend when it came into contact with a flat surface like concrete while reciprocating. It cuts through wood fast and deals with nails like they virtually aren't there. The blade seemed to be as sharp after the job as it was at the start with no visible dulling of the teeth. It turned my humble 18v Ryobi One+ reciprocating saw into a serious demo tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality blade for quicker demo work! The DIABLO DEMO DEMON by Freud is a dynamite reciprocating saw blade for demolition. I used it instead of a circular saw to cut a pressure-treated 4X4 and it cut right on the line with almost no deviance! These 4X4’s were split and then repaired by using number 9 deck screws to fasten some 2X stock on each side. These blades cut right through these sections and barely burped when it cut through the screw! I tested the plunge ability by cutting through a piece of T-111. The specially designed “finger” on the tip of the blade easily cut a slice through the sheet stock so that the blade could continue its cut through. The other day I had to plunge cut through some T-111 the other day with another reciprocating saw blade without this feature. It as difficult to plunge, and needless to say it did NOT cut as well as the Diablo blade! Using quality blades makes for quicker and easier work. These blades will make your demo work a LOT easier.

Had to cut thru nails, hardiplank, grout, wood simultaneously. Worked great. Seemed to dull a little quicker than expected. But overall was good. Will try Milwakees Torch type blades and hole saws next time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from surpassed all my expectations!!! On one job we had an old furnace housing that we needed to get out of a basement and carrying it up the steps was not an option because it was built with 1/4 thick walls and weighed six houndre pounds. We started the job with several blades of the "white brand" then we switched to the "yellow-orange" brand and still the blades would not last or even cut. We tried cutting it with the Diablo blades, we sliced that steel with no problem. With six blades we cut that furnace housing in sections that were manageable enough to hawl out of tha basement. Thank You Diablo for such an exellent product.... since then, we only use the Diablo make for all our cutting tools including our circular saws.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stays sharp and takes abuse. I used this for cutting up old lumber and pallets for recycling in my woodshop. Cuts through nails without complaint. Did not even feel a difference when it cut through the nails, it just scratched up the paint job, no dulling of the blades.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Blade I have been buying demolition blades for a number of years and can say that this blade is a winner. It goes through nails and screws embedded in some tough lumber and I have even used it on cutting through a floor with tile/wood/glue/nails and it worked like a charm. The blade got really hot but did not break or bend severely. The manufacturer must have listened to someone with demo experience when they brought this one out. I have used many other brands, but I won't go back. The length is right for demo work...works in some tight spaces and open work such as removing deck railings that need replacement. I appreciated Home Depot's fast shipping since I was waiting to begin a job when I had opportunity to get these blades.

Since I had a large job with lots of wood cutting, I bought several sets of blades including this brand and Milwaukee. Personally, I have had mixed experiences with Diablo blades. Their carbide blades are as good as any brand out there but the regular wood blades, I found dulled a bit more quickly than others with one breaking off in my saw, something that has only happened with Diablo blades. These nail embedded wood blades are a bit tougher than those blades although not as tough and durable as the carbide ones, which has one carbide included as part of this set. These blades cut well and handle most tough wood cutting jobs including wood with nails, although the nails tend to wear these blades out faster for sure. Overall, these are a decent set of blades, not quite as tough as the carbide versions but more reasonably priced per blade. 4 Stars

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saw`s All Saw Blades I was tearing out an old wall system and had used my last blade, it snapped when it hit some big spike nails. I use the diablo saw blades in my table saw and all of my circular saws and am more than satisfied with their cutting ability. I thought I would give them a try. They went through old 2x4`s and on up to several doubled 2x12`s. Out of the 5 blades I have used 2 to getthe job done. They cut through everything without bogging down the saw. They stay sharp longer and are almost indistructable unless you drop a hot blade from 10 feet up and it lands on the point. Then you pop that blade in two. Diablo has sold me on all of their blades. They have a quality product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It lasts and lasts. I did manage to wear out one of these blades while doing demo on my sun porch. I discovered some rotted wood while doing some other work, and ended up taking out most of the walls. I hit a lot of nails in the process. While they did slow down the cutting, this blade was able to cut through them without problems. It also worked great on cutting out pieces of a 4"x4". It does not go through drywall screws though. I guess they are too hard. They sure wear down a blade when you try. For most demo work, this blade will work great. If you are going to hit a lot of hardened screws, get the carbide tipped version.

So I had (keyword here people is HAD) a junk hot tub that was built into my deck. I bought this blade because my harbor freight ones didnt “cut” it. These babies did the job and I still have them. I cut up the hot tub into manageable bits and sent the abomination away. So I cut through the guts, foam, metal, hoses, vinyl, wood, etc in single fell swoops. I think I wound up ruining one blade bc I went to town cutting away and scraping against the concrete pad so much. Needless to say I didnt have to get more. Highly recommended for any demo project.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really good blade I used this blade (only one) to demo out a room and still have the same blade with plenty of life left on it. Most of the material I was cutting was old Douglas fir framing members and plywood. I was able to plunge cut through my underlayment and subfloor to move a heating register and I was very happy with the cut quality and the ability of the blade to allow the saw to cut without jumping back at me. I clean my blades in between use and the coating on the blade made that very easy to do, not a lot sticking other than saw dust.
