Will this fit any reciprocal saw? Can I use it to cut branches or wood?

Asked by: Wendalyn
Yes I should fit all saws and does a good job with wood. Stays on a line fairly easy due to the thickness of the blade. As far as branches I am not sure on that as I have not used on tree cutting.

This Sawzall blade came as advertised and did a much better job than I expected! I had been using bi-metal blades to cut cast iron pipes and it always took forever and a half. One of the store associates recommended this instead because it doesn't wear down while cutting. With bi-metal blades I would have to keep water nearby to constantly cool the hot blade while cutting so it stays somewhat sharp enough, not with this carbide-tipped blade. It stays sharp without those extra steps and cuts through cast iron reasonably quickly. You can't beat an angle grinder overall when cutting cast iron, but this blade is the next best thing especially when cutting the last half section or so that's up against a wall (preventing the use of an angle grinder). These blades cut other types of thick metal like heavy steel and stainless steel also, so I'll definitely be using them often.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from color me impressed The only thing that stopped this being a 5-star review is that I have no immediate way of saying (without doing a lot more cutting with this blade) as to how well it holds up over time before it begins to dull. I've had other blades in the past that seem great at first but dull quickly. That caveat aside, this blade blew away all the others I've used for this kind of work. The pipe you see is part of an old steam heat system. I took out most of the system a few years ago, but a few stubs are still sticking around. One reason for that is the absolute PITA it was to cut them out of the house with minimal disruption to the things around them that needed to stay (and needed to not get banged up). I went through a bunch of different types of blades back then, and this one blew them all away. It cut through that pipe in about 30 seconds. No smoking, no sparking, and minimal kickback (until the end). I wish I had a couple of these and the next size up when I did the initial teardown of the old system...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fat Cat, Size does not matter. SAFETY above all else. Been looking for a metal blade for as long as I can remember that not only cut's but last, I've used every stand blade out there, including Diablo's and once the job's done 'Small Jib of a few cut's' trash the blade as it's shot. These new Diablo Demo Demon Next Gen Carbide-Tipped Reciprocating Blade are just unbelievable and they are thicker and do not flex like the standard Diablo reciprocating blades. They truly cut like your cutting butter, eats metals like they not even there. Can not say enough about this blade, and it's a name you can trust, that you can take to the bank. All total I got five of these blades, three for wood 6, 9 and 12 inch, and two, a 4 inch and the 6 inch both for "extreme Thick" metals. We also have a 5 inch on a cordless, 7 1/4 on the circle saw, plus a tile blade. We know or blades from Diablo. As a 'PRO' Do It Yourselfer, we have done, heat pumps, decks, demolition, home repairs, plumbing, and a wide range on other projects and at the center of them all is a saw.

After years of using diamond grit blades, i recently tried on of these carbide-tipped 8 TPI reciprocating saw blades for the first time. This blade cuts through cast iron pipe like no other. The next time I buy, i will likely opt for one of the longer versions of this blade, which make it easier to cut 4 inch cast iron pipe without the blade bumping the inside of the pipe. This is blade is now my first choice for cutting cast iron.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I had to cut up an old fireplace to get... I had to cut up an old fireplace to get it out of my mom's basement. I tried some other blades and they worked OK. The Diablo blades worked better and stayed sharp longer. The metal that was being cut was thick and the fireplace weighed around 550-600 pounds. I was able to cut it into 3 pieces to get it out. If I had the project to do over again, I would have started with the Diablo blades and it would have gone a lot faster.

These blades will cut through just about anything made of metal and will do it quickly. In my line of work I’m constantly having to cut thick bolts that are rusted and stuck in 6-10 inch flanges on black iron pipe. The steel demon goes right through them even if you can only get to the head. They are definitely worth the price and will save time on just about any cutting job.

Easily cut thru the 3" in about a minute. Cut pipe a couple more times. Cut several holes in old plastered wallboard, which normally takes the teeth completely off a bi-metal blade. Cut hundreds of nails. All on the first blade, which is still good. Best blade of any kind I've ever bought.

This blade was able to cut through the bar.I won't say it cut like butter. It took about 20 minutes total, but it did cut through it.For about $12.00 plus my time it allowed me to do this job by myself.
