I believe it is mined salt.
Approximately 50-60 depending on the brand and weight per bag...ie, 40lbs (roughly 60 bags/pallet) or 50 lbs (roughly 49 or 50 bags/pallet)
Pentair has a salt calculator online that you can use. As stated earlier, you check your current salt level and the size of your pool and it will calculate how much salt to add in lbs. For example I just renovated my pool (38,000 gals) and refilled it. After 60 days, my salt level was 700 PPM. If you want you can take a water sample in and get it tested, just ask for a salt reading too. To get my water from 700 ppm to 3200 ppm I needed to add 840 lbs of salt or 21 bags. I added 4 bags at a time and spread it out using my pool brush. When it all dissolved I added another 4 bags, running my pool equipment all the time. I was able to add 8 bags a day. I could have done more but was not in a hurry and I didn't want a lot of salt sitting in a pile on the bottom. I did notice what I believe to be sand in with the salt, not a lot (like Leslie's Pool Salt which had A LOT).
Yes, this will work in hot tubs as well.
Very strange. I've been using this product for years with no issues.
Yes I have been using this salt for 2 years with my intex salt water chlorinator. Works well in the pool and it is crystal clear. I have never had any problems.
It's not fine salt like table salt. It's like coarse salt used in salt miller or smaller. IMO it's better than fine salt. I got some pool salt like fine salt from the other big box store, any wind will blow it away when you pour it to the pool. This is easier to pour and still dissolve quickly.
I have a salt water system. My pool is a12x24 in ground inset pool. This salt works fine for my pool. I would assume it would be ok for any salt water system, but since I have an inground pool I don't know for sure.
No its 99.9% pure. It works well with my salt water chlorinator. Never have had problems and been using it for 2 years straight.
Unless you have a chlorine generator that converts salt into chlorine, no, just adding salt will not kill the bacteria.
