Product came in an open blister pack that was held in place by scotch tape. It looked a bit out of ordinary as if it was a returned item. I ignored it and placed it into my Heyward heater, I turned on the heater, nothing worked and it gave me a controller board error, I replaced the fuses twice and I still could not clear the error or start the heater,. After about 4 hours of work, I reinstalled the old igniter and it worked just fine. I have to conclude that the igniter was shorting out the heater controller board and was returned by a previous customer - who must have had the same experience . I am quite disappointed at this shabby practice of re-selling a defective product.

This part caused damages to my heater. I should have paid the additional 12 bucks for a genuine Hayward part. Now I’m stuck paying a couple hundred for a new computer board and a heat sensor. Live and learn, I suppose
