Q:Quick question, has anyone used this pole to clean 3rd story windows successfully? I am guessing that the top of my glass would be 10+8+10 or 28 feet up? I am thinking would be difficult, but curious if anyone has tried it? Thanks.

Q:Will this reach high windows on a two story house? Or do I need the kit with the pole that extends to 30 feet?

      Answer This Question

A:  Hi! Thanks for your interest in our DocaPole. The 5-12 foot pole has a physical length of only 12ft. when extended but can do up to 17’ of reach when used while standing. If the sections aren't extended, it is within 5ft. However, I'm afraid the 12ft pole would not suffice for a regular two-story home. I'd recommend choosing either 24 or 30ft. I hope this information helps you make a decision in your purchase. Take care and have a wonderPOLE weekend!

The DocaPole is lightweight, and super easy to use. Extended the entire length, it reaches the second floor windows with no problem. But the longer you make the pole, the wobblier it feels. And the more distance between you and the side of the house, the less control you will have due to the wider angle. I first tried it on second floor windows that I could get close to the house to reach. The squeegee worked well and there was very little streaking because the weight at the end of the pole provided the right amount of pressure. Then I tried it on second floor windows that are set back from the house several feet due to the bump-out of the garage, and also on first floor windows that are hard to get to due to overgrown landscaping. The windows ended up a streaky mess because I could not adequately control the angle of the pole. But I think with a little practice, I could figure out the right method to use for the problem areas.

This is a high quality squeegee pile that extends from 5-12 feet! The handle and grips make for a very comfortable east to use device. It comes with three sizes of squeegee, also includes a duster or cobweb remover along with the blades. I look forward to using this for many years around my home and business. I highly recommend this for high dusting and window cleaning

Easy to assemble, this DOCA window cleaning kit provides an extendable pole, which is designed to reach up to 12 feet and save do-it-yourself retirees (like me) the leg pain and worry about climbing a ladder to clean the windows at the front of our house. Not only does this package contain one large dust remover and a microfiber scrubber to prep the glass surfaces, there are also various sizes of squeegees to wipe the windows streak-free.

Sturdy extension pole, multiple accessories, easy adjustments without tools. The DocaPole extension pole is the star here. The pole is made of sturdy aluminum tubes in three sections. Two “lever clamps” easily open to loosen and extend the tubes to a total of 12 feet then clamp closed to hold the tubes in place. Note that when they describe “17 feet of reach” that’s based on a person holding the pole 5 feet above the ground. So between the user’s height and the pole’s length, it will reach most second story windows. The windows in the picture start at 14 feet off the ground and peak just under 18 feet. I’m 5’ 7” and can just reach the top of the window, so the “17 feet of reach” is legitimate. The pole is lightweight and sufficiently rigid for the job, but I probably wouldn’t try the optional saw blade attachment at full extension. Not long enough? HD offers two LONGER versions of the DocaPole. Another nice feature of the DocaPole is the extra long foam wrap around the main section of the pole, which really helps with grip and comfort. Our kit included attachments for washing windows and for dusting. All attachments simply screw on to the end of the pole. The squeegee/scrubber head has two spring loaded pivots that allow forward-back and side-to-side adjustments. The squeegees (3 included) slide into the head and the scrubber stays in place with velcro. Very easy. The 16” grey duster can screw directly onto the end of the pole, but it’s even better with the black plastic “multi-angle'' attachment, which allows the duster to slide flat across the ceiling or the top of a bookcase. We found it especially useful to dust the multiple surfaces and frame of a modern crystal light fixture hung in a bathroom with a 10 foot ceiling. (See pic.) The squeegee/scrubber is sufficiently effective, but nicely efficient for window cleaning. Dunk the scrubber in your soapy water, wash the window, then flip the head around 180 degrees and squeegee it dry. You may find it necessary to squeeze some soap out of the scrubber to prevent dripping as you squeegee. You might also need to adjust the head angle between squeegee-ing and scrubbing, depending on your reach to the window. Experiment to see what works best for you. DocaPole makes several attachments for the extension pole, including light-bulb-changers, fruit-pickers, car squeegees, bristle brushes, ceiling fan brushes, even camera attachments! This is terrific because it means you can leverage the initial investment in the pole to tackle more than one task. Unfortunately you can’t get them through Home Depot (as of Feb 2021). “Hey, Home Depot! You’re missing an opportunity!” 5 ft. to 12 ft. Extension Pole + Dual Pivot Squeegee and Window Washer Combo (Includes 3 Sizes of Squeegee Blades). Model # DP12_SqueegeeScrubberDual01

They really do a good job with all the various attachments. This came with 3 different length squegees, a duster and a sponge bar. One of the best items is a fitting that can rotate the attachments up to 90 degrees. The pole can extend by two bars that have easy to use, but firm pressure clips. The bar itself is padded where you would most likely need to hold it. Hard to believe something as basic as and extension pole can be so well thought out.

I took advantage of a warm February day and washed the windows of my single story home using the DocaPole squeegee-washer combo. Even though it has a 5’ to 12’ reach, I hardly had to extend it much beyond its 5’ configuration. The cushioned grip was comfortable and secure even when wet. I really liked the ability to swivel and angle the head to properly engage the glass. The pole won’t wobble or slip out its sections as it is very sturdy and has firm locking latches. Unless you have a very wide bucket, the longer squeegee blades won’t fit as you dip the scrubbing mop head into it, so you’ll need to slip it off while you’re washing the window and then attach it when you want to wipe the glass. That’s very easy to do even with wet hands. I also like being able to quickly undo the Velcro and slip the mop head off so that I can use it like a sponge to wipe the frame of the screen and then just as easily reattach it for the next window. The only problem I encountered was that I found that I had to go over some water streaks that the squeegee blade would leave, quite regularly, but after a couple of swipes, it would be dry. However, overall, this is a great tool for making window washing a lot easier.

This pole is made of aluminum so it’s light weight and solidly built. The end of the pole has a handle grip and a hole for easy hanging. There is a softer grip on the lowest end of the pole. The material the softer grip is made of may wear over time depending on habit of use or how stored based on prior experiences with similar. Time will tell if that occurs. The thumb lever clasps hold extremely tight when extending the pole to prevent slipping and spinning of the upper extensions. The thumb clasps are a little tight and may loosen over time. They have hex screws that can be tightened or loosened. The flexibility of the attachment- end of the pole offers many options to get into different angles and tight spaces. Included are three differently sized squeegees that should fit any size window. There is also an additional adjustable connector providing even greater flexibility in modifying the angle of the attachments. Other attachments includes are a micro fiber head along with a duster that comes in handy with our high ceilings. No need to get a ladder for those quick corner ceiling dust jobs. This pole extends to 12 feet and there are longer extending models available for those who have 2 story homes. The attachment has a typical screw type connector that would allow for any other attachments you might want to use with this pole such as a broom attachment. Overall this is a nice tool to have around the home for inside and outside use.

This is another MUST HAVE cleaning tool. It is brilliant. It is a light weight extendable cleaning tool that is super easy to use. No more climbing on ladders to clean the top of an outdoor window. It has multiple function heads that are interchangeable. The black bit that can be fit between the head and the pole allows you to tilt the cleaning head in different angles for difficult to reach spots. There is an outdoor window washing head that has a loop cloth on one side and a squeegee on the other side so you can soap and rinse the window with one side and then squeegee it dry and shiny with the flip side. It has multiple sized squeegees included. It is an item I will always want to have on hand. It's sturdy and well designed. It should really last and save sore muscles and climbing ladder risk taking for window cleaning. I love it.

These poles are super strong, lightweight, and easy to adjust the length (using levers rather than the twist method). The pole accepts all kinds of attachments for various jobs around the house (do an internet search to find attachments). This one focuses on window cleaning. My process to clean windows: initially rinse the window, apply a sud spray, then use this pole with attachment to clean the window (takes minutes), rinse and squeegee. It takes literally forty-five minutes or so to do all my windows around the house. I have used many poles in the past but they end up being too heavy, hard to adjust the length or too flimsy when extended. The Doca pole solves all those problems and significantly reduces the number of times I need a ladder. This is one of my must-have items.

Washing your own windows seems more economical than paying a company to come do it; especially when you have a single level ranch home in the middle of the dusty Badlands! When I saw this product by Docapole I decided to go with it. It's a very sturdy, high quality extending pole with numerous attachments for cleaning and squeegeeing off your windows. I figured I could also use it to dust the corners of the eaves around the house, garage and patio. It extends to 12 feet...more than enough for me; comes with 3 sizes of squeegee's plus microfiber dusters. It can be angled 180 degrees. I'm sure this will last me a lifetime.
