I have used it sucessfully pour about 3 tablespoons add a little water and let it stand overnite and flush it down with a few buckets of hot water works for me.
I would not hesitate to pour it down the kitchen. For my kitchen sink drainage, I use real hot and steaming water to pour down the kitchen sink to rinse and clear all existing build-up grease and scum particles.
It got our kitchen sink running again, so it may work.
Hi there – great question! While excellent at clearing clogs, this is not designed to combat odor. A product that can help after clearing clogs is Drano® Build Up Remover. This eliminates odors and prevents future build up/clogs. – Brooklyn, SC Johnson Consumer Care
If it is truly calcium and not a clog from an item, you may want to try filling your sink with hot water, then adding white vinegar and opening the drain. It will not clear the clog immediately, but after a while it will loosen the calcium deposits to be flushed through your line.
Thanks for your loyalty. Drano® Kitchen Crystals are no longer being made. The closest alternative would be Drano® Kitchen Granules. – Elizabeth, SC Johnson Consumer Care
