You can adjust the Duet down to 55.5" but it will decrease the walk through opening space and increase the overlap of the doors. The bottom guide rail and guide blocks must all be installed as per the installation manual. Anything that is not installed as per the installation manual would void the warranty and compromise the installation. We're fairly good home diyer's but never installed a shower door. We started Saturday morning. Worked 4ish hours and got it installed. Ran into a few issues leveling the doors but got it done. We used a few other reviewers suggestions along with the instructions. DO THIS!!! IT HELPED SO MUCH! Dreamline should really add the suggestions to their instructions. We did have a couple roller wheels strip out. They're brass and it's easy to do. I still need to call for some more and finalize the install. But, they are holding the doors for now. We bought a 50$ carbide blade and it worked great. Definitely worth the money. We'll use it for trim too so the cost is more justified. Buy the blade! Door is amazing! Not hard but tedious work if your handy. It's beautiful and my 6'1" spouse walks through with ease.

This review is for the DreamLine Duet 56-60 in. W x 72 in. H in Brushed Nickel. The door was easy to install and beautifully finished. All parts are labeled with an ID number and logically packaged into multiple plastic bags related to the install step. Customer service is top-notch !! I broke an expensive part and called to purchase a replacement. They shipped me a new part free of charge to ensure I would be happy with my new door. This company knows how to treat customers !!!! Since they sell tons of these doors, customer service is typically busy....don't wait on the phone, leave your phone number and they typically call back within an hour. Some helpful hints from my self-install: 1. Read the entire installation manual before starting. 2. If your 3 wall width measurements (step #1) are nearly identical and wider than 56", cut off an additional 1/8" width from the top and bottom rails (not just the 2 1/4" in step #2). If your walls are nearly exact as mine are, you will have difficulty keeping the silicone on one wall profile (part #2) without the extra 1/8". The 1/8" is absorbed in step #7 (see below). 3.(Step #2) You only need to cut 1 end of the UPPER guide rail since there are no alignment holes to consider. However, the top of the rail is rather thick and the rail is a few inches tall. If using a hacksaw to cut it, be sure to make your cut perfectly straight else you will see the crooked cut after the unit is installed. I cut mine on a 10" radial arm saw with a 60 tooth carbide tip blade for a perfectly straight cut, then polished the ends with a fine flat file. A chop saw with that blade will work fine too if properly secured. 4.(Step #3) I would not attempt to install those screws with a hand-held screwdriver as you will likely strip the head before the screw is fully seated. Use a screw gun and #2 philips bit, or much better - take a trip to the hardware store and buy stainless steel hex head screws of the same size and install them with a 6 point socket. 5.(Step 6) If you built your shower new and have studs/wood behind the screw holes, don't use the wall anchors. Use stainless steel screws directly into the wood. Ensure the screws penetrate the wood at least 1/2". Typically, a 1 1/2" screw will accomplish this (pre-drill a smaller hole). 6.(Step #7) Apply the clear silicone to the WALLS and shower base THRESHOLD, applying a thicker layer on the wall with the shower head. Move the entire frame into the opening on an angle, shower wall in first, and 3/4" to 1" above the base threshold. After sliding the side opposite the shower head into place, push the entire assembly down on top of the shower base threshold, then check for vertical level and install screws. Wipe off any excess silicone then wipe it clean with rubbing alcohol on a paper towel immediately. 7. (Step 8) There is a designed small amount of play when attaching the rollers to the top of the glass doors. When attaching the rollers, pull up on the rollers so any extra space is between the top of the glass and the roller. This will make the door sit as low as possible and minimize the chance that water will splash on the bottom rail and leave drops of water on the bath floor (yes, I have this issue). Also make sure both screws of every roller are positioned the same (pulled up) - if one side is pulled up and the other is not in the same position, the door will not hang straight....it will not scrape on the bottom rail but it will hang on an angle that is highly noticeable where the 2 doors meet in the middle. You cannot adjust this without removing the doors from the track. 8. (Step 9) This step should be accomplished with 2 people, especially when installing door B (the inside door). Hope this Helps!

We struggled with this Installation. If you are a novice, first time do it yourselfer this may be too much for you. Instructions are not detailed enough. Some of the screws were not quite the right size. Some of the drill holes were not done. The doors are extremely heavy to carry and lift to install. The shower walls on our project are not straight and even so that made it harder too. Be confident in your skill level or hire a professional

Very well packaged and protected from damage; Install instructions were thorough...One of the roller brackets was not tapped,,not threaded and I had to purchase a tap and put threads into the drilled hole, customer service was helpful and they did ship a new part to me but took a few days and I couldn't wait. Otherwise the product worked well

Quality product through out, very impressed. A little tricky to install but a competent do it yourselfer should have no problems. The doors are 5/16 and quite heavy, definitely a two person installation job. Very good directions but must be followed precisely. Very pleased and would recommend.

I am not impressed with the door. We wanted a door with thicker glass panels with a nice appearance and this door meets that expectation. But, my issues with the door are the over engineered inner/outer side rails that make assembly more complicated and the end result is a visible flange and screws into my shower walls. This poor engineering actually leaves a gap in the wall side rail that you can see from the outside of the shower that I'm now going to have to fill with clear caulking. Shower doors are not complicated and by making it this way you lost the ability to hide the side rail screws inside the rails. I regret not having put all the pieces back into the boxes and returning it to Home Depot.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you are not happy with your Duet Shower Door purchase. The Duet is one of our most popular bypass shower door models to date. The wall profile/glass profile system allows for the ability to adjust for with and out of plumb. If your wall is bowing outward more than 1/16" along the middle portion of the wall, you are correct that you would need to use caulk to fill this void. If your bow is smaller, the wall profile may have enough give or flex to accommodate this. We are hopeful that you will enjoy your Duet Shower Door. Beautiful End Product
Customer review from DreamLine.com logo
The pieces are in foam bags, however they should have the kind of protection that sticks to the metal as it is easy to scratch the finish as it is not protected while it is being handled. You absolutely must cut it with a 120T saw (freud) made for thin aluminum. It provides the best cut. The formula for determining the cut did not provide an accurate measurement. Fortunately it turned out to be too long so I made subsequent cuts to get to the correct length. I completed the installation by myself, however it would have been better with one more person to assist.
