What is the actual walk in height from the threshold to the bottom of the upper rail?

Asked by Brian April 19, 2021

Answers

It is approximately 55 inches from the top of the threshold to the bottom of the top rail. There should be ample room for anyone to get in and out of with ease.

Will these doors work if the top my surrounds only 56"

Answer

We recommend that the finished walls be at least as tall as the door that you choose. In addition, DreamLine shower doors are not designed for use in molded fiberglass shower/tub enclosures. If you have any other questions, please contact a DreamLine PreSales Consultant at 866-282-8413. We are available 8am-6pm EST, Monday through Friday and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. You may also send an email to support@dreamline.com. Thank you for considering DreamLine!

Is there a minimum width of flat threshold required for the GUIDE BLOCK to sit on?

Asked by LEON February 13, 2021
1
Answer

Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. The Encore tub door actually uses a bottom rail and the guide block will be mounted to the bottom rail. To be able to fit the bottom rail (and the guide block) onto the threshold, the Encore requires a minimum of 2-1/4" of threshold space. Do you have to install the interior towel rack/handle?

Asked by KT January 23, 2021

Answer

Yes, the interior towel rack must be installed as it is the vehicle to move the panel. Failure to install the towel bar will void your warranty on the product and can compromise the installation. If you have any other questions, please contact a DreamLine PreSales Consultant at 866-282-8413. After installing a tub wall, my width are 53 inches...can I trim this to 53 inches wide??

Asked by Maddy October 30, 2020

Answer

We do not recommend trimming the Encore down to fit an opening 53" wide as this will make the walk through space very small. If you have any other questions, please contact a DreamLine PreSales Consultant at 866.282.8413. We are available 9am-6pm EST, Monday through and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. The panels of the Encore feature ClearMax on one side of the panel and should be installed with that side facing inward. The panels have a sticker on them that indicates which side has the ClearMax. This sticker should not be removed until the panels are installed properly. If you have any other questions, please contact the DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866.731.8378. Easy assembly and beautiful. A great project that can be completed with little to no experience. This product is more than what I had expected. It has sturdy framework and sliding doors with a smooth glide opening and closing. Love it!

This shower doors turned out good. The reason I gave it a 4 is because the directions are basically non existent. I you tubed it, read the directions and went to the Dream line web site but very little information was to be found for this specific door. The plus side is, their customer service is A++. They responded to questions very quickly. The directions tell you to trim a little extra (I forget how much) off the top and bottom rail and but mine ended up little short after I trimmed it, (I measured many times before cutting) I would cut it exact first and then trim as needed. It also says you have to have two people, but I managed to do it by myself. now that I have done it, I think I could do it again in less than an hour, however I spent several hours on this one. Also FYI, the glass is very spotty after each shower.

Doors look awesome, it was easy to install, did it by myself, You just need to be careful when cutting the lower rail, instruction says to evenly cut both sides 3/4, don't cut both sides 3/4 because you'll be way too short. You need to divide 3/4 by 2 and it should give you what to cut on each side from the total wall to wall length. I cut 3/8 from each side from the total length. Make sure the two center screw holes are centered, from there you will need to cut both sides evenly. Also make sure the glass doors with the "ClearMax" blue labels are placed in the inside of the shower, you should read them correctly from the inside not the outside. Since my tub has rounded corners, I used a dime to trace and cut the bottom edges. The transparent glass is awesome, the only thing I noticed is that you would probably have to squeegee the glass after each shower so it can look spotless because water droplets will still be visible when they dried out, but it will repels most of it. I bought one for $5 and it takes less than a minute to squeegee the glass to leave it spotless after each shower.

Thank you for your feedback. DreamLine does not recommend installation of our shower doors in fiberglass shower enclosures. We also do not recommend altering our product in any way as this will void the warranty on the product. Thank you for choosing DreamLine and for your feedback. bathauthority

Just renovated my bathroom and used this door.It is well made and looks great! .I had it installed by the contractor so I can't comment on the ease of installation. It was a special order from Home Depot and took some time to get. I was notified that it had arrived in store. When I went to pick it up I was informed that they had lost it somewhere and a new one had to be ordered. Very disappointing. Still nice door. I recommend.
