Does the shower door have a handle on the inside of the door? I can't tell from the picture.

Yes. There is a "knob" handle on the inside directly behind the top of the outside handle. It's easy to use and doesn't show from the outside.

Is this door code compliant with the 22 inch opening requirement ?

Answer

The maximum walk-in width with a 48'' tiled opening would be 20''. If your tiled opening is below 48'', it will be below 20''. If you have any other questions, please contact a DreamLine PreSales Consultant at 866.282.8413. We are available 9am-6pm EST, M-F and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. How do i adjust sliding door up. Its started to drag ? Its a model # SHDR- 64487610-07

There is about 1/8" adjustment by using the set screws (top & bottom) where the top rail fits into the brackets. Remove the bottom safety pegs beneath the rollers. take the door off. Check to make sure the brackets are still tight and not loosening from the walls! If tight, loosen the top set screw on each rail bracket. Tighten the lower set screw until the rail is at the highest point in the bracket and then tighten the top set screws. Rehang the door. Hopefully that will be enough clearance. If the brackets are loose, you will have to re-anchor the the brackets firmly to the walls.

Yes you will need to have studs behind the walls to attach the door hardware. The easiest solution would be to cut out a section of the wall and install the proper anchoring for the door hardware. You could do it yourself or any handyman could complete task. You only need support at each end of the rail that holds the rollers for the doors. Without the proper backing, the doors could fall.

What is the difference between the enigma air and the enigma xo

Asked by John June 29, 2019
1
Answer

The differences are in the design of the hardware. The Enigma Air has a square upper guide rail and rollers that are less of a presence. The Enigma-XO has double rollers and a round upper guide rail. Both doors require plumb walls and are made with stainless steel hardware and 3/8" thick tempered glass. After years of doing custom shower doors, we elected to use two DreamLine doors on our recent remodel. Not all carpenters will be comfortable enough to install these and your local glass company will probably not touch, so make sure you are able to install yourself or have someone willing to take on. Our carpenter said it was not a style he was familiar with, but after the first set of doors went in, he got the hang of it. Did a pretty good job too. It was probably about 25% less than a custom door of this size would have cost (including labor) and is comparable in style, function, quality. Would do again. Since one of these doors stays stationary, think about where you want to walk in to your shower (typically AWAY from the water source). Once you attach, there's no switching out that door.

Shower door arrived to local store within a week. Finished shower remodel and door installed easy. I decided to do a left hand door but with stationary glass on inside. They don’t offer this as an option in the instructions but our toilet prevents an easy right hand entry into shower. I wanted the door outside to prevent shower head spraying water between glass door and wall. It can be done, see photos. Glass treatment was on both sides on this unit. Only major comment would be the instructions should have you mark location for BOTH track/support points on walls after dry fitting the stationary glass. Not measuring stationary side then dry fitting for door side. Hope this helps anyone questioning if you can put door on outside for showers with shower head opposite of the door.

Beautiful door!
These doors are beautiful! One panel is fixed, the other slides smoothly across the top bar. I do use a squeegy after each shower to keep water marks away. As a FYI these are extremely heavy. You defintely need 2 people to carry the box and help installing the sliding door. Overall I love them!

The Enigma shower door is a top quality frameless shower door, which adds a touch of class to any bathroom. It's contemporary look and clean lines, updates any bathroom. It's a smooth sliding, very solid shower door. You definitely have to be sure that your walls are plumbed, otherwise adjusting the door, could take some effort to install. Definitely read the directions thoroughly as adjustments can be tricky. We've had the door about a month now. This door definitely exceeded my expectations, and previous reviews were spot on.

Great look
Customer review from DreamLine.com logo
Because of spacing a hinged door would not work, and this slider did the job nicely. Quality rollers make for a very smooth sliding operation. Though professional installation is called for, we did the job ourselves. If you have good mechanical skills you can do this job. It is a 2 person job though, and every thing needs to be perfectly level and plumb. This is a quality door with great finishes and looks.

Awesome shower door
Customer review from DreamLine.com logo
Install was a little difficult and stressful for a DIY but came out nice and we love it. Recommend two people to install. Glass is easy to clean especially if using squeegee and soft towel. Love the design and smooth function of the door and 3/8" glass.
