Q:My acrylic tub's edge extends beyond the tile about 3/8" on both sides. I thinking that this door won't be able to seal on either side due to this construction. (I have this door in my current shower but it is tile from top to bottom, no tub involved.)

The honeymoon is over after ONE year
This is a beautiful shower door but after only ONE YEAR installed in our half bath I noticed that the "stainless steel" is RUSTING!! This is NOT acceptable for a shower door, since baths are always going to have moisture. As a note to skeptics, I have followed all of the care requirements meticulously including using only Dawn dish liquid and a microfiber cloth for cleaning the glass etc. We have a window AND a vent inside the bathroom and the vent automatically comes on with the light. Sorry Dreamline, but this is simply NOT acceptable. I was going to buy another for my 2nd bath remodel but NO WAY I WILL BUY ANYTHING from this company again. Now I have found out that other people are having the same problems and their warranty is a total joke.

I struggled with giving 4 star rating. I would have given 5 stars for the quality of the product, but almost posted 3 due to poor instructions. This product is designed to sit on the ledge of a tub, but the instructions and hardware provided are for an acrylic pan or a tile ledge. The screws provided stripped when driven into a steel tub. The description of how to adjust set screws to level the bar are wrong and are reversed from what they tell you. They recommend a perfectly level bar, but I slanted mine slightly to make sure the doors stay closed. Dreamline should correct their instructions and develop an online video for the Enigma series doors. (OVE has an excellent animated video that Dreamline could learn from.) I am an avid DIYer and my wife assisted me with the install. We are both very pleased with the appearance of the shower door and how smoothly they operate. The doors are very heavy, so be careful.

We renovated our bathroom and installed this door and found it to be of Excellent Quality! Installation took a while, but once installed it met and exceeded our expectations! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this door to anyone. The installation is not a simple do it yourself project especially if tile is involved. We happened to use porcelain tile and I used a couple of drill bits...in the end however we couldn't be happier!

The best hardware (including extra parts) of any product i have ever assembled (I'm 60 and a long time DIYer). Everything is solid stainless including the top rail which feels like it weighs 20#! Great product, easy to install, detailed instructions, and great help via phone or online.

My contractor said these were very heavy doors to install. But, the results are beautiful! I love the door as remind me of barn door slide which is so popular right now. East to clean and sturdy. Also allows my beautiful new tile job to show through, increasing the beauty of the room. Definitely pricier than other potions, but for me it was worth it, to have what I wanted. Love the frameless design.

Good buy
I had read about that this was hard to install. Thankfully I had 2 good guys to do it for me, it took about an hour and a half, so not so bad.
It is a super-heavy piece and keep in mind if you have curb-side delivery and live in a walk-up apt, you should be ready to pay the delivery guys some extra cash to bring it upstairs.
It looks fantastic and I love the thickness of the glass.
In all a great buy!

High quality better than expected
Beautiful and high quality. It was difficult to install, must be installed by two proffessional guys. But it looks amazing in my master bathroom. I am very satisfied with my purchase. Highly recommend!

Dreamline Enigma Frameless doors
These frameless shower/tub doors are absolutely beautiful. Very modern, very clean looking but installation can be tricky. The reason I only gave it three stars is because the package has some minor flaws that in my opinion need to be addressed right away. The set screws that secure the door track to the mounting brackets strip easily. In my opinion a door system with a price tag as this one should at least come with decent hardware. The bottom door track, a small rectangular piece wasnt cut with true sqare corners. The last issue i had was a small chip on the top corner of the stationary door. Its right on the bevel so i decided to leave it rather than start a replacement parts claim. The door system is heavy and awkward to carry. I strongly advise DIY people to use a second person whenever pissible.

DreamLine Door on Cast Iron Tub
We updated our 40+ year old bathroom and used this door on the new cast iron tub. It did take two installers to do the job. It is definitely heavy! They had no problem drilling into the tub (one bit for porcelain and another for the cast iron). The door looks and glides wonderfully. They sealed with clear calking on the walls and then on the tub. I haven't showered in the bathroom (guest bath) but I would still definitely recommend the door. High quality look and feel. I rated this 3 for ease of installation simply because it took two men and it was heavy. How it compares to an install of a more traditional door is beyond my experience. I am hopefully having this installed in our master bathroom and will let you know more at that time.
