How long does the battery last after fully charged?

I've looked over the specifications of this particular dremel and it just says it takes 3 hours to charge, but nothing about how long a full charge will last. Any help from those of you who have it, would be great. Thanks!
Asked by: toriluisa
In my experience it depends how long the animal's nails where when you used it. The firs time I used it my dog's nails were longer than usual so it drained the battery doing all four feet. It charges very quickly and if you are doing quick trims it should last you much longer.

My finger and toe nails are thick and need to be ground down periodically. Can this tool be used for this purpose?

Asked by: Thick nails
Yes, based on personal experience. I have nails of normal thickness. I just bought the Dremel and I was practicing first time use BEFORE using it my dog. I used the coarse grit drum and low speed. It worked great. I did both hands and feet and a couple callouses. I will definitely use it again and experiment with the fine grit drum.

I bought this tool to use as a sander, buffer and drill. So far, so good. It has plenty of power for my usage. I don't know how long it will hold a charge as I only use it for just a few minutes at a time. It is easy to use and the bits I had from my old rotary tool can be used with this one. I wanted to buy a chuck for this so I could change bit sizes without changing the collet but I could never get a definitive answer as to whether the Dremel chuck would fit this particular model. Some said yes, others said no so I just change the collet when necessary. Not a huge hardship, but if I had known that, I may have purchased a different model.

This was recommended by the nurse at a diabetes foot care lecture, especially for nails thick and hard. Glad to find out about it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Battery Life is Terrible I bought this to do my dogs nails. I cannot get through trimming two paws before the battery dies out. Very frustrating. Ive owned and still own several Dremel product and use my main dremel every day and it works great. This one does not. I have to use my big cordless that is loud to finish up the work.

My only complaint is that the manual didn't do a clear enough job for me to understand how to get it set up in order to use. Better instructions with images would be a help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dremel does it again! The 7300-N/5 Mini Mite is excellent battery powered base unit with two speeds that should cover most everyday users needs. The Mini Mite is easy to operate, well balanced and fit my hand well. I have used my unit to grind out and then sand rotten areas in bowl blanks, so I could fill the void with epoxy. My Mini Mite performed very well and made a good showing when compared to my other Dremel products. Dremel built another great little battery powered rotary tool with the 7300-N/5 and I would expect nothing less! I would recommend this product with no hesitation at all. He definitely does not like someone touching his feet or his nails which get long and thick and difficult to cut using conventional cutters. Using the grinder on low speed and him on his back or side I I found this tool to be very light and easily maneuveredso I can do them daily for only a short period of time. The grinder has minimal vibration and he has gotten used to it so there is limited resistance to keeping his nails short. Although the grinder comes with 60 grit sanding disks, I recommend going to 80-100 grit disks to reduce further vibration.

This nailgrinder was highly recommended by my neighbor who owns an English bulldog. She showed me how to use it and I was so impressed at how relaxed her dog was while getting his nails done (haha). So I ordered one from Home Depot because I wanted an easy return if there was any problem with it. The only problem I had was the instruction sheet being useless. Good thing an Amazon reviewer has a very helpful video on how to assemble this Dremel tool otherwise I might have returned it. I initially fed my Golden Retriever treats as I turned the Dremel on away from him so he'd get used to it. Now he just sleeps while I trim his nails. It's definitely less stressful than using the old nailclipper. Yay, no more ouch for Jagger!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tool for the small jobs I had the 4300 prior to getting the 7300 and while the 4300 is great for any job that I have thrown at it, the 7300 is far more convenient for the smaller jobs. If you don't need the additional power or attachments that come with a bigger unit, the 4300 is a perfect pick. It is easy to set up and simple to operate. No need to find an outlet and get out the extension cord with this one. I love it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
