I bought one on-line last week. I am a groomer also. Love this dremel. Replace about once a year when the nail dust causes it to get loud.

Yes I built a 4 foot bird perch with mine. initially got it for modeling, but it's kind of a weak tool. if i may recommend, get the dremel 4300 and you won't be disappointed. This dremel 8050 is okay but the battery kept dying if you give it too much resistance. ended up putting the dremels drill, saw, and sanding bits in my Ryobi hammer drill to get the job done. Now I own a 4300 and drill press work station (which can pivot sideways for easy sanding) and am very happy. Note: the 8050 cannot work with accessories that require a frame thread to screw the drill into such as the drill press work station.
I'm not sure but it is pretty quiet and I use the stone to grind my dog's nails.
