The Dremel MM494U pipe and 2X4 blade is made for cutting pipe and thick materials such as 2X4 studs. With an extra wide cutting edge, the MM494U adds control and convenience because users can now easily cut PVC, conduit and copper pipe without the blade slipping off of the work-piece. Cuts through a 2X4 can now be done in 1 pass as well. The blade's Bi-Metal construction optimizes the MM494U for metal cutting, so you'll experience no more destroyed teeth if you hit a nail while cutting. The Dual Interface allows its use with the most common oscillating tools in the market without the need of an adapter.
  • Universal dual interface directly fits all oscillating tools without the use of an adapter, excluding StarLock
  • Compatible with Dremel, Bosch, Makita, Milwaukee, Rockwell, DeWalt, Fein, Porter Cable, Ridgid
  • Dremel bi-metal blades in wood with nails provide up to 15X life vs. standard bi-metal oscillating blades in wood with nails
  • Extra-wide cutting edge adds control and convenience
  • Cutting 2x4 and pipes in one pass and with low vibration

I was replacing some of the panels on my garage door and needed to cut out the profile (wood molding) around the panel. So I bought this blade thinking it would make the work quicker than the standard blade as it is twice the length. It worked fine for the first couple of panels but then the blade broke at the the right angle bend of the blade. This blade does not appear to be as strong as the standard MM48OU model or maybe because it is longer it cannot take the vibrations as well. I expected the blade to have lasted longer. The wood I was cutting was a softwood. I finished the job with the MM48OU model.
