I cut through a 3/4 steel bar with it. A padlock would not even be considered an appetizer to this beast

Can this tool cut tile

Asked by: Drew
Yes, it can cut tile with the proper blade. If your going to use it is to cut multiple pieces for a job this tool would not be the best. Simply would take to long and the precise straight cuts like a tile saw you would not get. If you just trying to cut a few pieces or cutting a square out of the tile. Say for a shower drain, then yes it works perfect. I love this tool and highly recommended it, great for a few cuts or hard to get place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth Operator So far I am really enjoying this Oscillating Tool. It cuts much smoother than the other brand that I have. Pros: Easy to change the blades, you will love this. Cuts really smoothly without the harsh vibration I am used to. Dremel blades seem to be holding up good. The "Foot" makes cutting a straight line a breeze and really steadies the machine. Cons: Price Corded A little heavy Tool does not fit in bag with blades attached It performs the tasks oscillating tools are best at fantastically, but it doesn't do everything perfectly. It comes with a blade to cut through 2x4's. You will do this once to try it and then go back to your circular saw or reciprocating saw. I do like it for cutting tubing though. Whips right through it with a really smooth cut.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect everywhere home owner tool The versatility of this guy blew my mind. I first used it to install a new ceiling fan. It quickly and cleanly cut lines in drywall, then with a blade switch, cut through some stubborn metal on an old bathroom fan, one blade change later and it cuts a wood strut to size for me. It’s quite possibly the coolest oscillating tool I’ve used. It can be applied with finesse then ramp up the power when things get stubborn Pros: • Wide range of uses from cutting various materials (drywall, wood and metal in my case) then right into sanding • Zero clearance potential • Lots of power • Easy to set and use depth guide • One handed blade adjustments and changes • Plenty of accessories • Dremel name brand – you know it’ll be supported for a while and that counts for A LOT Cons: • Storage bag is a little flimsy with no separate pockets for accessories – could be an improvement • Heavier than other oscillating tools – I’ll throw this one out there since it was in reviews but with the caveat that this guy packs more power than I’ve seen before. I worked for 30 minutes with it over my head and I didn’t have any issues with fatigue – but I suppose your mileage may vary""

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new favorite tool This is a true multi-tool. Not only this oscillating tool has many different uses, but it can also reach areas where other job-specific tools won’t fit. It isn’t the fastest in cutting, but it replaces bigger / bulkier tools for smaller jobs. I love the quick-lock / release feature for attaching / removing accessories. The wide range of accessories makes this tool versatile for many types of jobs and materials. It comes with 3 different blades and a sanding plate with a few sandpaper samples. This tool can be held in various ways to cut, scrape or sand comfortably. I like the fold-away guide which helps make straighter cuts. It is also very powerful for its size. Overall a great tool for the DIY enthusiast and I would recommend it to any homeowner or professional. Things I would improve on: - Laser guide & LED light - Slightly longer cord - Larger bag that fits the tool with the accessory attached - Perhaps also include plastic safety glasses

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow. Not what I was expecting Holy cow. This thing is a beast. This completely redefines what an oscillating tool can do. A complete monster. I have had several cordless and corded oscillating tools in the past, of various build and quality levels, but this is a complete step above. This oscillating tool completely blows my extremely expensive European tool out of the water. And this is a Dremel brand tool, which is not something I eeeeever expected. With this tool, it seems like Dremel is trying to reach out into the more industrial market and instead of just the hobby market. The huge 7 amp motor makes the body of this tool massive. It is hard to hold on to sturdily with only one hand. It is like trying to hold on to 4" pvc. This motor is a beast, almost impossible to stall out. It cuts through aged oak planking (with a new to medium-used blade) completely effortlessly. Anyone who uses oscillating tools in the past knows that the blades for these are not cheap, but this extra strong motor makes sure that you get every bit of life out of each one, until the blades are completely flat. Then you've got a scraper! The tool quick change is a nice feature that is not a standard feature on all oscillating tools, but you sure do notice when it isnt there! I found the "foot" to be a little bit gimmicky for me, but it may be more useful for others. Your mileage may vary. This tool is an absolute beast, and is so far beyond what I expect from Dremel. Absolutely A+, best oscillating tool on the (American) market!!

After purchasing some carbide blades, I used it to cut several nails and some wood on an addition I'm working on. I expected to go through several blades cutting the nails, but one blade cut at least 30 nails and all the wood and doesn't seem to have dulled at all. While the tool is heavier than my previous tool, I found that to be an advantage in that the added weight makes it more stable ( more movement of the blade and less movement of the tool ). It cut the nails with ease and the flip down foot is a good feature. I thought it was a gimmick at first but it increases both stability and cutting speed. As for the toolless blade change? All I can say is "NIIICE". I can't tell you how many times I lost the allen wrench for the old one. I've only had it for 2 weeks but it's already paid for itself in time saved. Overall - Great tool. Well worth the extra money.

Best I've ever used! Very powerful. The depth gauge is very handy. Very helpful in making long, straight cuts. The tool free blade change is handier than sliced bread. I've enjoyed the use of this tool for approximately two weeks now. If it lasts, it may become the most used hand-tool in my box. Good work Dremel.

I've only had it for a week but have already used it for two different jobs and love how easy it is to change attachments. I like that I can change the speeds to fit the job too. It has certainly met my expectations. I am very pleased with the price too. Well worth it!

It was heavier then I wanted, compared to a Bosch that is currently out of stock. For a guy this might be just fine. It is also much larger and would be difficult for small tight confined jobs. Low rating from my used but looks to be a solid product for the right application.

The high-velocity crank made short work of my project, which required, cutting, sanding, and polishing. The quick lock made swapping tools a breeze. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oscillating tool on steroids! When a standard oscillating tool just won't cut it this this tool will. I have a less powerful oscillating tool which just wouldn't cut the door jambs and mouldings I need to cut to allow me to install floor tile. With this took and a cardbide bit it cut right through the material and a few mails holding it in place. I used a diamond blade to cut out the grout in a section of the old tile floor I was was trying to save and this tool did it. One word of advise is do not run the tool on high to cut out the grout or you will dull the blade very fast. Next job is using this tool to cut out a rotted section of an exterior door jamb. 7amp motor delivers rpm of 10,000 - 16,000. More than enough power for just about any job!

I exchanged it for the Ultra saw , which by the way is a BEAST. Can’t really go wrong with any Dremel tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Professional Grade, fastest cutting oscillating tool I've ever used. This is a complete Dremel oscillating tool kit. The first look at this tool and you can see it’s clearly a heavy duty unit compared to the original series of oscillating tools. It’s larger, heavier, faster, and much more powerful. This tool has an industrial feel to it, and cutting materials is quicker and easier than a more traditional unit. The Velocity VC60 features a variable speed motor with a range of 10,000 to 16,000/oscillations per minute and the motor is rates at 7 amps. Kit comes with canvas carrying case, three blades, sanding attachment with a variety of sandpaper, and the saw. Saw features a quick lock accessory/blade attaching mechanism, where the clamping flange is released by a lever. Installing a blade is quick and easy, no wrench is needed. The tool also features a rotating foot that can be opened and used to stabilize the saw when ripping material, such as plywood. The foot does make a big difference in your ability to guide the saw and make a straight cut. Tool has a sliding on off switch and a variable speed control dial to select the speed. The three blades that come in the kit are the wood and metal flush cut pipe and 2x4 blade, the 3 inch wood and drywall saw blade, and the panel cutting blade. It does a good job of cutting in a variety of materials and the multiple blades offer good flexibility of use. Sanding attachment also does a good job, with Velcro attaching paper. The beauty of this tool is its ability to cut through material much easier than typical versions of oscillating tools. Seems like you are using an adult version of the tool rather than the kid’s version. Overall, a very good heavy duty tool with multiple uses that provides tool free attachment changes in seconds.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tool, needs a couple minor improvements This tool works great cutting 2x4’s fascia angles were simple with this tool. The lever for locking in the blades flops a bit. The blade stays locked, just the lever is loose. Also the shut off switch isn’t easy to work, it’s loose. I would push the switch off, but it wouldn’t shut off.

When using this tool to cut through material such as plywood, drywall (cutouts), and such it was great. I used it once to flush cut some trim and I was wondering where has this tool been all those years? It has low vibration, very stable, and actually just fun to use. Many uses. So yes, I would definitely recommend this tool for anyone that works in the trades such as construction and the weekend warrior. Very pleased I purchased it. Now I want to buy some more attachments to play with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultimate multi-tool! This oscillator is one of the best tools you can have in your shop, and it won't be laying around either. You can cut into just about anything with the right attachment, from wood to metal, pvc piping, laminate, stone, brick, you name it! The great thing about it is that it cuts nice, stable, straight lines unlike a sawzall that is all over the place. It's absolutely great for those small, detailed home repairs or for something on the go. Leave the sawzall for framing or unseen areas and get this if you like precision and high quality finishes. It is a rather large unit, and may not fare well for those with smaller hands, but you're supposed to use both hands anyways. This is not a negative in my opinion, as Dremel was able to fit a powerful 7 amp motor into this puppy, so as long as you have the right bit, cutting will be a breeze. I would recommend going over your drawn line at a lower speed and then finishing off with more power to make sure you don't slip and damage the surrounding areas. Furthermore, the oscillator cuts in a safe, rotating motion, unlike the back-and-forth motion that is typical of a sawzall, which tends to grab all too often or slip out of the users hands. This is a must-have for any contractor, handyman, or avid do-it-yourselfer. For further ease of operation, there is a wall guide which sticks out 1/4" further than the attachment, so all you have to do is rotate and drag along to make a clean cut. It can be positioned at any angle, so it can reach where other tools such as circular saws can't. The only possible con I found was that It does heat up quickly and isn't meant to be used for hours on end. I cut off the bottoms of some 3/4 osb siding trim within a few minutes that was beginning to rot, and it went through like a breeze. The biggest thing that have to make sure of is that you're using the right attachment and working at the right speed, otherwise you're over-working the oscillator, prematurely damaging the attachment, and wasting your time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful multi use tool Powerful multi use tool this 7.0 Amp 7-foot Corded Oscillating tool has endless possibilities at my house. I got this tool to use to remove a few ceramic floor tiles which were damaged from high impact objects hitting and breaking the tile. Normally a job like this would have to be done by hand with hammer and chisel. But this tool made it so much more easier and faster removing the broken tile and the adhesive and grout which was bonded to the cement floor. Looking over the manuel that came with the tool I see there are many more things that this tool can perform to make so many more jobs easier. The unit came with 5 or so various heads and a black heavy duty zippered cloth material resembling the old doctors bag design, with Dremel printed on it. I never owned a tool like this in the past so it is like I am a kid with a new toy. I want to find jobs around the house so I can use this tool. It is extremely well built and powerful. Endless possibilities of uses. Thank you so much Dremel and Home Depot for such a great tool. I am looking forward to getting many many more uses from this item...Oh and I checked out availability of replacement heads and sanding/cutting items etc in my local Home Depot Store and they have everything in stock which is always important to me. Nothing like missing or breaking an item and not being able to get a quick replacement when you are in the middle of a project. So this tool is positively a two thumbs up product by me..
