I purchased these to install low voltage exterior landscape lights. They are a bit more expensive than regular connectors; however, they are well built for the elements and should last a lifetime. Although unnecessary, as an added precaution, I actually wrapped these with waterproof tape meant for fastening French drain connectors together after the connections were made.
Even though I originally purchased a much larger quantity in the 20 pack (http://www.homedepot.com/p/DryConn-Small-Waterproof-Wire-Connectors-Aqua-Orange-20-Pack-62114/202889871), when I was finished with the project my wife told me she was not satisfied with the end result. She wanted more lights, which required more connectors. I only needed four, so I purchased this version. My wife is now happy with the exterior lights and she gave me permission to move onto other projects that I really care about... like my basement.  Â
I am very pleased with this product. They have proven durable, resilient, and worth the price. If my wife ever wants more lights installed outside, I will be buying more.

The silicone gel squirted out all over everything and then...
The silicone gel squirted out all over everything and then the wire nut failed to grip the wires. I then had to clean my fingers and the wires. It was all a mess. I ended up useing a regular wire nut with some tape.
