  • Energy Star 20.5 SEER Yields Ultra-High Cost Efficiency
  • Top Quality, Outstanding Features, Exceptionally Quiet
  • Equipment should be sized/installed by a qualified professional
The 24,000 BTU 2 Ton 20.5 SEER AHRI and Energy Star Certified DuctlessAire Mini Split Air Conditioner with variable-speed DC inverter compressor provides a highly efficient, quiet, low-cost professional solution for your cooling and heating needs without requiring any ductwork. This energy-efficient system is the ideal solution for open-room applications up to 1200 sq. ft., such as classrooms, sunrooms, open floor plan flexible-use spaces, man caves, home theaters, offices, studios, bedrooms, bonus rooms over the garage and even basements and garages where heating and cooling is desired. Where there is an open interior space need for heating and cooling, DuctlessAire Mini Splits have the answer. This sleek-looking unit is mounted on the wall, working in concert with an exterior condenser requiring only a small hole to run the lines from the air handler to the condenser. The fans deliver continuous airflow and circulation with year-round temperature comfort and are easily adjusted with a remote control that comes standard with each unit. Because the air handler is mounted above eye level, it is aesthetically attractive, blends well and does little to impede with furniture and decor placement. DuctlessAire Mini Splits are a cost-effective alternative to central HVAC systems and can be installed in just a few hours.
  • 20.5 SEER rating Energy Star certified: estimated national average annual operating cooling cost is $148 based on AHRI certificate #9150140
  • Package includes: stylishly designed interior white wall-mount air handler with LED display; exterior pre-charged condenser with special golden anti-corrosive coating coils; wireless remote control for customizable airflow and temperature adjustment; 25 ft. complete kit
  • 25 ft. kit includes: copper tubing with insulation and nuts, control wire, 6 ft. drain hose, wall sleeve, wall sleeve cover and tape
  • Electroplated coils: the electroplated hydrophilic coils improve heating efficiency by accelerating the defrosting process; the unique anti-corrosive coating on the coils also aids in withstanding the effects of salty air, rain and other corrosive elements by allowing contaminated water on the coils to run off more quickly, reducing the corrosive effect to the coils; heat exchange performance is much longer lasting
  • Low ambient operation: a special built-in low ambient kit can be used in temperatures as low as 5°F for cooling operation, useful for users who need to maintain cooling during winter
  • Refrigerant leak detection: with this new technology, the system will alarm when a refrigerant leak is detected
  • Dual sensor fixed or remote: by switching to remote sensor and keeping the remote close to you, you tell the air conditioner to set the temperature from wherever the remote happens to be, this counteracts the tendency for the air conditioner to stop cooling or heating because the air around the unit has reached its set temperature (switches off after period of inactivity to preserve battery life)
  • HEPA filter included (1): a HEPA filter is a type of mechanical air filter; it works by forcing air through a fine mesh that traps harmful particles such as pollen, pet dander, dust mites and tobacco smoke
  • 2-direction air vane technology: in cooling mode the air vane opens counterclockwise to direct air horizontally, allowing for an even cooling effect; in heating mode the air vane opens clockwise, directing air downward, this time for a uniform heating effect
  • Built-in electronic diagnostic: monitoring some abnormal operations or parts failures, microcomputer of the air conditioner will switch off and protect the system automatically; meanwhile, the error or protection code will be displayed on the indoor unit
  • Outdoor pan heater: a heating belt is fitted on the base plate of the outdoor unit to avoid accumulation of rain, snow or water on the base plate
  • Dual washable filters: a good air conditioner should not only take care of the temperature in your home but also the quality of the air you breathe; the system aids in removing most of the pollen dust, smoke and other microscopic airborne particles that by latest thinking contribute to respiratory problems like asthma and hay fever
  • Self-cleaning: by pressing clean on the remote control, it automatically cleans the evaporator to aid in reducing buildup of bacteria and keeps the air fresh
  • Sleep mode: in sleep mode, the unit automatically decreases the heating or increases the cooling by 1° per hour for the first 2 hours of use, then holds the temperature steady for 5 hours before ceasing
  • Low noise airflow system: without decreasing the airflow volume and capacity output, the large-diameter cross flow fan can bring down the indoor unit noise level by lowering the fan speed
  • Anti-cold draft: if the unit is turned on in heat mode when the ambient temperature is low, it will warm up prior to fan operation to prevent cold air in heating mode
  • Louver position memory: the set louver position is stored in memory by the microcomputer and the louver returns to the stored position when the next operation is performed
  • Turbo mode: this function enables the unit to reach the preset temperature in the shortest time

Does the inside unit have to be mounted on an exterior wall?
Asked by: Jcastle
No, the indoor unit does not need to be mounted on exterior wall but copper lines, drain hose and electrical cable can be visible. In my Arizona park model, basically mounted on interior platform install lines, hose and cable behind window valance. Looks great.

If self installing do you need to have and HVAC professional charge the system or does it come pre-charged?
Asked by: Joey
Outdoor unit comes pre-charged. Mounted indoor unit on interior wall (copper lines, drain line and electrical cable hidden behind valance) and mounted outdoor unit on concrete pad but hired licensed technician so that the great warranty would be valid (one year on indoor and outdoor unit & five year warranty on compressor). Both the indoor and outdoor units are very very quiet,

Can a second indoor zone be added to this unit? Does the indoor fan run continuously? Or does it turn off when the outside compressor turns off?
Asked by: BrittSC
This is a single zone unit. I think the fan turns off when the compressor is off. At least it seems to be off to me or so low that it seems to be off. Also, make sure u install the minimum lenght of copper tubing specified in the manual. Even if u only require 5 feet install the minimum which i think is 16ft. This will provide max efficency.

DuctlessAire Energy Star 24,000 BTU 2 Ton Ductless Mini Split Air Conditioner and Heat Pump Variable Speed Inverter - 220V/60Hz, White is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 543.

Love how quiet this thing runs. Was fairly easy and straight forward to install. The only issue I has was the included 5/8 line-set kinked when trying to route it through the floor joists. There we no tight bends so I was surprised that it kinked, bought a new 5/8 refrigeration copper line and had no issues with the bends. Had licensed installer help with the install, pressure testing and evacuation so as to validate the warranty. He too commented that this looked like a good quality system with the exception of the lineset. After installing this Mini-split I noticed that it had a USB socket under the front panel. I did some more research and found that a lot of these Made in China units are very similar and use a lot of the same parts. I decided to try a OSK102 Wi-Fi Remote programming module and to my surprised that after a few attempts of programming it I was able to get it to work. I tried to install the NetHome Plus APP on both an Android and IOS phone and the IOS phone was the only one that would work for me. It's nice that I can now control it from any place with my phone!

This was the only brand of ductless mini split systems that had consistent 5-star reviews. After installing this unit I have not been disappointed. I have only been using it for three weeks now, but have been more than impressed with how well it cools (this is in East Texas in the middle of July when the temps are in the mid 90s with the heat index above 100). This unit has had no problem keeping us plenty cool set at 77. If I were to set it any lower I would actually be cold. We are using it to cool our 1400 sq. ft. two story home. It keeps the first floor very cold but, since heat rises, the upstairs is a bit warmer. This thing is also super quiet. You have to stand next to both the indoor and outdoor unit just to tell that they're running. It's amazing! Until now we were using window units for cooling, but got tired of how inefficient and noisy there were. This unit fixed both of those issues. We will see how well this system holds up over time, but for now we love it.

Very quiet indoor and outdoor units. Will update review in a month. I am happy with it . It looks and feels well made and good solid quality. You just need to be carful aligning the hole in the wall where you have to run the lines from inside to outside unit as equipment does not come with a templet to drill the hole. I had to adjust mine a couple of times. My wife is very pleased with it. As they say, happy wife happy life.

My installer told me he installs these mini split units often and was extremely impressed by the unit having everything needed for install included, he made mention to me that if someone ask him in the future with his success in this install he would direct them to HD for this unit as it made his install a breeze. Unit working flawlessley and digital temperature readout display on front panel was a pleasant suprise and enjoying the handy remote and extremely quiet. I give this unit a positive 5 Preview and would purchase again. Long term quality to be determined and will follow up via Preview in future. Ricky

Of the multitude of mini splits available we choose Ductlessaire because parts are available in the US. Instructions are a little iffy, i.e. wiring diagram. There are some videos on Youtube for this unit but are done by HVAC pro's and not really clear enough for DYI'rs. We had to cut the lines to make for a nice installation requiring the lines to be re-flared. Had a small vacuum leak but picked up a bottle of nitrogen, charged the system and quickly found the leak. If this is your first time HVAC project there are some things you'll need; HVAC gauges, vacuum pump, bottle of nitrogen with gauge, flaring tool, torque wrench, 16mm (5/8") and 24mm crows foot wrench, multi-meter, outdoor disconnect, water proof conduit and fittings, 1 cord grip and four 5/16" x 2" anchor bolts. The unit has been running for two weeks in 90+ degree weather and performing perfectly. The remote control is loaded with options. I highly recommend this unit.

We bought this unit to specifically replace some baseboard heaters that we were paying an arm and a leg for over the winter. It's still summer so really the only thing we've been able to test is the AC function. It has been phenomenal! It is incredibly quiet and although the head unit is a little bigger than we anticipated it cools the room in no time at all. The install, we weren't around for. We had a relative who works in HVAC install it for us and it sounds like we're going to be owing him for a long time. I don't know all the details but I grasped that it was not as cut/dry as we may have anticipated. In the end it all looks great and although the verdict is still out on the heat, we're very pleased with everything so far.

First what I did NOT like: 1) I wrote to the company asking about warranty since I would be installing myself, but I know what I'm doing. They NEVER responded (not a good sign). 2) I struggled with the poorly written literature that came with this unit. The installation guide consists of a lot of ridiculously childish information and not enough guidance. Imagine and installation guide that never mentions the nominal voltage of the unit. It was roughly translated from Chinese (I'm guessing) and not the quality of technical writing that is worthy of a piece of equipment that is this sophisticated. Thanks to my experience, I figured out what they "wanted to say but didn't." So beware DYIers. Now what I DO like: 1) I started this thing up yesterday, on a day where heat indices were well over 100 degrees and it was like magic happening. This thing is so much quieter than I imagined, it' barely audible. And so far, it is performing very very well. Water is pouring out of the condensate line at an impressive rate. 2) It's a beautiful piece of equipment (I may be biased toward all things mechanical). 3) if the SEER ratings are accurate, I look forward to significant energy savings. 4) I have oil fired heat, but a heat pump is a nice back up and may at some point take the lead role in heating my home. IN SUMMARY, this unit looks great, runs well so far, but I cannot give it highest ratings until it stands the test of time (not because of any faults with the equipment). Also, I consider the poor literature and lack of response from the manufacturer / seller to be a poor business practice that could ultimately cause me to go with another seller as I add units to my home. Little things do make a difference. But for now, all's well that ends well and the unit is cooling like a champ.

DUCTLESS AIRE 18,000 BTU: Before purchasing this unit (and at the same time a 12,000 BTU), I contacted the company directly in SC. The customer service representative I spoke to answered all my questions without hesitation and reassured me as to the quality of the equipment, its reliability and the support offered. I had the two units professionally installed yesterday and am quite pleased with my purchase. Both units function flawlessly and are whisper quiet. They are loaded with features, some found only on much more expensive brands. The installation instructions were clear for the installer and the shipment was complete with no missing parts. The equipment was well packaged and did not suffer any damage while in transit to the store, where I picked up my order at the end of May. The best feature is the auto-dry when the unit shuts down from either Cooling, Heating or Auto mode. Time will tell, but it should help prevent a build-up of mold inside the head unit, which is common in Mini Split A/C. We expect to save money this summer and throughout the year with a SEER of 20.8 and an HSPF of 10. One thing for sure, we're going to be much more comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Solution Installed myself. Paid my HVAC buddy $100 to tighten line set, vacuum the system and release the coolant. You can run an air conditioner disconnect off of your meter box and use conduit to reach your desired location. The copper lines attached to the air handler are much more flexible than the line set itself. If you can, it is best to drain the condensation line somewhere other than directly outside your home because it may encourage termite damage and create constant excess moisture. Draining it into the sewer is optimal. This system keeps my entire 1000 sqft home cool in 90 and 100 degree weather. My electric bill has been considerably lower each month this last summer. Happy with this purchase even though I don't like Home Depot.

I had to wait until I had a patio to put it on and then finding an installer was a real challenge. Home Depot does not install these units in my area so I came very close to having to return it but finally found a company that installed it. Once this was installed - WOW! Quiet and works very well so far. Had to know if the outside or inside unit is on it is that quiet. And it being hot boy does it cool quickly. Evan the team that installed the unit was impressed on how well it worked. Right now I give it 4 stars. I wish it had a Wi-Fi option to control from my phone but it does not. Everyone who has seen it is blown away by how it looks and works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great A/C with a heat pump. This DuctlessAire brand 18,000 BTU Mini Split A/C unit with a heat pump I purchased fom HD's website is fantastic. I had the unit installed by a licensed HVAC technician, it requires 220 volts power, I hired an electrician to do that. Ductless Aire recommends this unit to be installed or to be checked by someone licensed, to ensure proper installation and connections of their product, for them to honor their 5 to 6 years manufacturer's warranty, it says on the warranty registration certificate paper that comes in the boxes. If you are a do it yourself person, or you've got a handyman to do it for you, just have a licensed HVAC guy check your installation and all the proper connections, for a fee, and have them fill out the check list on the warranty registration form and mail it in. Peace of mind plus 5 years for the compressor and 1year standard manufacturer's warranty for your A/C.I had this 18,000 BTU split A/C unit with an included heat pump installed for my 540 square feet room, it's more than sufficient, it cools well and heats well, efficiently and quietly, at 34 dbl. sound rating, it's as quiet as my high end dishwasher, and it looks attractive from inside and outside. It's controlled by an included remote control. As soon as you turn it on the fan louver on the inside wall unit opens up slowly and the fan starts blowing cool or hot air quietly, depending on your selection, and when you turn it off, the louver closes. For the outside condenser unit, I purchased a set of 4 anti-vibration  rubber legs, from amazon, at a great price, not because it vibrates, the compressor and the fan on this unit work so smoothly and quietly that sometimes you don't even feel it's on, It's just to raise the outside condenser unit about 3 to 4 inches above the ground, if you set it on the concrete floor, depending on where you install it and your local code requirements.I also purchased the 4 inches wide and 14 feet long Ductless Aire brand PVC hose/line cover from HD's website, to hide the outside hose/line in style. You can get those from amazon for less, but I liked the looks and quality of the Ductless Aire brand line cover. I'd suggest to opt for their higher BTU rated units, to make sure you get a sufficient air conditioning coverage for your room, the price difference is not that much, besides, you can set your controls on the lower setting if you don't need much cooling or heating, and if you do need more, on those hotter or colder days, your room won't be under cooled or under heated for the sake of saving a couple of hundred dollars at the time of your purchase. By the way, all Ductless Aire brand  split unit A/C's are energy efficient and operate quietly, regardless of their BTU ratings, but more is better in the long run, cause after you have the unit installed, it would be a hassle and more costly to upgrade it to a higher BTU rated unit, when you feel that you have the need for a more powerful air conditioner.

I purchased the DuctlessAire 24,000 BTU 2 Ton AC & Heat unit by placing an online order through Home Depot. Got approximately $283 in discount since it was on sale over the labor day weekend. Within a week, the item was delivered at my local HD store (free shipping). It took approximately 7 hours for two HVAC techs to install it. Half of their time was spent to install a 220v line from the main electrical panel to the wall where the compressor/fan is connected. The unit is quiet and cools my 2-car garage (converted into a man-cave) within minutes. Also, I purchased the DuctlessAire 4 in x 14 ft cover kit for the line sets to provide an aesthetically pleasing look on my exterior wall.

The self installation went well even though the Ductless Aire recommends strongly professional install. I have confirmed the heat and A/C both work fine. I won't know how efficiently the heat really is in the winter in NH until maybe January. I put the unit on a stand because of snow fall here. The issues I had with install were getting the right adapters for the vacuum, getting a proper vacuum pump and gage for about 300 micron vacuum, and the correct metric crows-foot sockets. Otherwise, it was a one man job for a weekend. If DA provided sealed lines like some competitors, as even an option, the install would be very easy. Indoor and outdoor units are very quiet.

Been sitting here on a 96°F day enjoying the mini split; My wife, newborn & myself are as comfortable as can be. The house has an open fl plan, with the 2nd fl (another living rm area, master bed & bath) being an open loft area. With the 1st fl fans spinning bckwrds to push cool air up into the loft, this one unit easily cools both floors at once! The unit is as quiet as can be! Way quieter than any of our standup fans. The outdoor compressor is super quiet as well. I record music inside of the outer wall that it was mounted onto, so I was worried sound or vibrations might creep in. Nope! Looks great too. Couldn't be happier with this product/purchase.

Meets SEER (20.8) specification so it is eligible for an Energy Efficiency rebate from our power company. No duct work or big hole in the wall. Just installed the DuctlessAire unit this past weekend. We placed it in the Master Bedroom, and it's super duper quiet when running. You don't need to turn up your TV. We had to test run the heat and air conditioning even though it was 20 degrees here. Even the outside compressor is fairly quiet. The unit cleans itself, takes humidity out of the air, cools and heats. It automatically louvers shutters up and down to help move the air when heating and cooling. Comes with a wireless remote control that works great and can act as the thermostat. Pictures below, show it mounted on the wall in the master bed room and the outdoor unit on temporary cement blocks. We will conceal the line set behind a plastic cover and mount the outdoor compressor on a shelf, this summer.

It has taken over all of the heating and air conditioning requirements. In Maryland we get 80 degree days sometimes in the winter months. We switched to AC without a hitch. I like the drying feature. It keeps your tools and shop manuals dry. We have a 1200 Sq ft shop with over 12 ft ceilings, insulated on 4 walls and a 11 ft glass garage door on one end. This unit maintained a comfortable 65-68 degrees with outside temperatures at 28-35 degrees. Its quiet as a mouse and the outside unit hanging from the wall offers no vibration. We ran the tubing inside of the shop because most of our utilities are exposed. This eliminates a hard protective cover over the tubing on the outside. Installation was about a day. Both inside and outside units were shipped flawlessly to our Home depot store and easily fit in my pick up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice System After reviewing many heat pump systems, we decided to go with this one as it qualified for a rebate from our electric company. The install went smooth and easy (but, beware, I believe if you install on your own you have no warranty-wish they would change this!) My only complaint about the install is the length of the tubes/electrical. I wish you could choose a size if you need less than the 25 feet as it becomes a pain to try to reroute the extra that is not needed because you do not want to cut anything! We've only used the a/c so far. It cools down the room much quicker than my old window a/c ever did.

Everything that was suppose to come with unit was in the 4 boxes. Installation instructions were OK but the remote instructions are difficult to follow. So far it appears to be as advertised and Im getting 49 degree cooling when on Turbo Mode. It is certainly quite. You can barely hear the fan running. I have no experience with the heat mode except that I turned it on to see if heat came out. When tested we had no problems and the technician only had to follow all the steps listed on the warranty sheet and all went well. Very pleased over all.

Bought this mini split for my oversize garage that I converted to a t-shirt shop. Put in a insulated garage door and this mini split and could now hang meat out there if I wanted too! LOL Seriously though, I can feel the cold air blowing from the air handler on the complete opposite wall. I did 90% of the installation myself...I called an HVAC guy to cut and flare the lines, pressure test, vacuum the lines down and release the freon. I like the idea of the variable speed inverter since it can throttle itself up or down depending on the demand. I am extremely happy with this mini split and have already recommended it to a couple of friends.
