The trellis can hold up to 50lbs of weight, so depending on the size of your rose plant, it can possibly hold it.
Due to the size of the trellis we don't recommend that it be mounted in the ground. Another option would be to put a post (2x2 or 4x4) in the ground behind the trellis and use that with the wall mounting kit.
The trellis would work fine as long as you mount it to the wall correctly so it has enough support.
No, the slats hold the unit together, removing them will weaken the trellis. Mike
Yes, you can hang pots on the trellis. It will hold a total of 50lbs.
Screws hold the horizontal slats and the vertical slats run thru holes in the horizontal ones. It is a good solid build. I have two of these.
The short answer is, "No." But...the vertical slats are inserted through holes in the horizontal slats, limiting the front-to-back movement of all slats and keeping vertical slats parallel. I have had both of mine for 3 years and they support large woody clinbers (a climbing hydrangea and schisandra vine) perfectly. Hope that helps.
the slats are secured into the posts and the top and bottom rails.
This trellis is 38 inches wide on the outside. The cross rails fit all the way through the outer posts to create support. It can not be adjusted.
You cannot slide rebar into the posts, because the slats slide into the posts like a grid. Once everything is slid together and in place, then screws are placed to hold it all together. I shared a picture with my review, hopefully it is helpful. I wish that I was allowed to share more pictures. But I could only upload one.
This trellis is designed to be wall-mounted only.
The bottom legs are hollow.
The Lancaster Post are hollow, but the rails go all the way through the outside post preventing you from putting any stakes in. This is why this trellis comes with a wall-mounting kit.
