I want to smoke fish as well as brisket and pork shoulder and turkey. That means I need a broad temp range. I'm looking for something that will settle in at about 165 or go as high as 325. Will this unit do it? With two burners, 10K each, I want to buy it, but the fish is a must. Thanks.

Hey Jimbo I'm not sure if anyone has answered your question yet, but I smoked a couple turkeys for thanksgiving and ran this smoker. I wanted a low temp to start out with so I used one burned turned down as low as it would go. It was about 40 degrees outside and the smoker held temp around 150 degrees all night. The only thing is, when using one burner you'll want to switch burners after a while or you'll only burn your wood chips from one side of the wood chip box. It did go a little over 300 degrees when I turned both burners on and had them a little above half way. We've smoked brisket, chicken breast, turkeys and brats. We also did a smoker full of beef jerky. Everything turned out great. Just need to do a little adjusting on temp and cook times.

Can you use wood pellets on this smoker

No. It is designed for wood chips or chunks. Because of the location of the wood pan directly over the burner assembly I would not even use wood shavings as they will dry out and get hot to quickly which will/could result in an internal fire which would most likely ruin what ever you are smoking.

I can’t get it below 240 with only 1 burner on. Any suggestions?

The regulator may be defective you should be able to adjust the flame to almost zero to high flames. This can be easily checked by watching flame as you increase/decrease the gas flow with the knob. In some cases you may have to make some adjustments/modifications to the vents.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from exellent smoker Top chiminey vent will not close all the way and Chip tray mount was way to high. could not get any smoke until we put chip tray right on top of burners. Then everything went great. Minor temp adjustments but it held temp great. Temp gauge is almost bang on. The interior size and all the racks are awesome as is the 2 door system. Very happy with it

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The smoker was package well, it was in good condition. It was easy to assemble even with doing it... The smoker was package well, it was in good condition. It was easy to assemble even with doing it all on my own. The only problem I experienced was when I tried to season it as instructed it would only get up to 150 degrees. I tried a different tank which didn't help, I continued troubleshooting and found that the regulator was defective. I called customer service and they shipped a new one out with no problems what so ever. If you are on the fence as to which one to purchase, this one came with excellent customer service as I can tell. It works great, runs a little hot but can be adjusted by not clamping the door as tight and opening all of the vents. Very happy with it.

This is a real big smoker that is an excellent value for what you get.That being said there were a couple of problems,but not a deal breaker for me.The smoker weighs over one hundred pounds and the handles seem a little thin.One of the latch tabs was bent so the door wouldn't lock properly.I had to bend it back to get it to lock.The instructions were excellent and easy to follow,it took about 30 minutes to put together.It comes with a smoker box,water tray and tons of racks with a rib rack.There was Styrofoam everywhere from shipping but the smoker was in good shape.It heats up quickly and holds temps well.All in all this is a great smoker with room for a lot of food and is built to last a long time.Value wise it is excellent.

Having reviewed dozens of smokers online, having gone to various stores to physically review them, and after reading a hundred customer reviews I read one that said, "Just go get one!". So I happened on this smoker, liked its size (others in the store were way to small), AND as luck would have it is was on sale. I ordered it through Home Depot. Received it on time. Went to the store and they helped me load it in my truck as it was a good size box and about 100lbs. Got it home and off the truck with no problems. Assembly was much easier than I thought and I had no problems at all. Instructions were very easy to follow and it took me about an hour and a half to assemble. Quality was good and there were only a few very small dings in the cabinet but nothing that would effect its working or any that scraped the paint, all normal for an item as big as it is and being shipped. Everything fit according to the instructions. Racks, supports, water bowl, chip box all fit in nice. After wiping down everything I sprayed everything down inside with two cans of aerosol spray canola oil. Took all of ten minutes. Put applewood chips which I soaked for an hour in the box. Start-up was a snap with the electronic starter. With both burners on high got up to 350 degrees in no time. Smoke, flame, temp all went perfect and I seasoned the smoker for two hours, a little more than recommended. The smell of the wood was mouth-watering. All in all everything went great. The following weekend I smoked my first meats, chicken pieces and venison burgers using hickory chips. At 225 degrees burgers were done first and came out and were gone so fast I barely got one myself! The chicken was fantastic, moist and juicy throughout and the smoke flavor was very prominent. I am very happy with this product and as a first time smoker I am looking forward to years of use. This product was everything it was advertised to be and I am very happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Smoker works great Nice all round smoker. The burners are big enough to smoke at -40 F. I have a hard time keeping the temp at 225 F on a summer day. The wood container holds enough wood to last 2 hours. I always add water when I add wood. A full tank of propane last two 8 hour smoke sessions. The cooking area is large enough to do 6 Briskets or 6 pork butts or two large turkeys. The doors seal up well. The only thing bad about the assembly was the foam packing got all over the inside of the smoker and there are no directions on how to season it. I washed it out with dish soap and rinsed it out with a garden hose. After it dried I sprayed it down with pam. I fired it up to about 250F and smoked for about 2 hours. The next day after it cooled I hosed it out. The thing works great!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from runs too hot i bought this smoker a few months ago and was easy to put together. My only problem is it gets too hot even at lowest burner setting. I have even noticed that my meat was smokier on my last smoker cause i could smoke longer at a lower temp this smoker gets hotter and hotter so i have to shut off one burner for awhile and then switch to the other cause my chips burn out on side with burner on. im thinking about cutting another vent on top cause i dont think there is enough air flow with the little chimney.
