AnswerRun to HD they are currently selling a fire box in the form of a small grill. If you are are afraid to get crafty I see no reason why it can't be used as a fire box. I think it's around $70. Good luck. Remember to always clean out the fire box after using it. That will make it last longer.

Limited use of this smoker so far has been great!
I did buy some gasketing (Oklahoma Joe's) and wood stove sealant to tighten up any air gaps (from the inside, I applied sealant to all seems/gaps).
Temp has been easy to control, and minimal air leaks means it holds the heat longer, and I found also requires less smoke (less adding of wood to the charcoal) to get the same great flavor.
I would highly recommend!

Putting it together was much more of a chore than I thought, , It is heavy as I had just had back surgery .
Had to wait two months for assembly.
Also it works pretty well but they put the Dyna Glo door badge on upside down which is the first thing everyone sees when at a grill out .
Embarrassing to say the least
Poor QA in the production
The smoker is pretty good overall
Holds heat pretty well for hours
Decent sealing around openings
Temp Gauge seems pretty close
Did I mention

They should at least give a free Cover for the smoker so everyone doenst see it first thing

Product was received and as expected. Assembly was fairly easy and was up and running in no time....
Product was received and as expected. Assembly was fairly easy and was up and running in no time. 1st run to season smoker went well with only a few leaks noticed but smoker still maintained an even temp. Got some sealer and sealed up the cracks and such and it works great, heats up quick and does a fantastic job. I only gave it 4 out of 5 as it needs to stand the test of time for durability, but so far I love it!

Few Modifications - Awesome Smoker
I'm very impressed with this smoker. Easy to assemble, great construction. First cook was successful. After some additional research, I found that there is some temperature fluctuation in the smoking chamber. To combat this, I purchased some lava lock silicone and gasket and installed around the door opening to seal in the smoke that was escaping from the gaps between the unit and main door. I also purchased a charcoal basket which fits perfectly in the firebox. This charcoal basket makes it easy for long duration cooks where I don't have to keep adding fuel. Nothing against the smoker for either of these points, just need to add a few mods to make the overall experience awesome. Great product!

After reading previous reviews from multiple sites, I can say that I was fortunate to have my smoker delivered without any dents or scratches. All the pieces and screws were there too. I did have to turn the shipping box upside and feel around inside the smoker itself to grab a few misplaced nuts and one bolt. I put it to the ultimate test for it's first run- I smoked a whole turkey in the rain! I burned through all my wood and lump coal, but it did finish cooking on time. For people new to offset smokers, I recommend a tutorial before using it. It will help you get the most out of it. Awesome smoker overall!
