A: Common sense would dictate that picking up a brick with a 40 inch stick is not a piratical idea

A: In the video on their website e-zreacher.com it shows it grabbing one of those red bricks like is used on red brick houses (I think they're about 4x4x8). That's a far cry from a 8x8x16 brick you're probably thinking of.

A: Cups not so flimsy, if you plan on picking straight up with grabber perpendicular to brick, no problem. If you wish to extend brick out parallel to ground good luck holding it, but the lock will hold the bring in the cups. If done too many times I can see the cups giving outt.

A: Something large as a brick. ,,no..but a heavy shoe or medium size rock ,no problem,,and the cups are not flimzy,,very good quality ,,and strong

Definitely get the cheaper version. I can't see any way this version could be made less durable than it is. It is made from glued together pieces of plastic of a quality you would expect to see in the package of a tool. Had these leaned against a wall, and when they toppled over, the handle exploded. Repaired with two 1/4 inch bolts -- one where the hinge pin is and another just above the square tube mount. I don't expect these to last much longer post-repair.

Works great out of the box. But after use, you can tell that the tensioner spring is getting a little bit wore out.

I would have given this 5 stars; however, it is simply too long to be able to pick things up such as trash and easily put into a bag with your other hand. It would help if they had the 36” version for sale. Otherwise a GREAT product!
