The ECHO eFORCE 56-Volt Rear-Handle Chainsaw and Replacement Chain Combo Kit delivers an incredible amount of power and performance. The 18 in. bar and chain, combined with a high-efficiency brushless motor, provide up to 200 ultra smooth cuts on a single charge. The DCS-5000 is ideal for yard or storm clean-up, small to medium tree felling and cutting firewood. ECHO's 18 in. replacement chainsaw chain (91PX62CQ) is designed with unique chamfer chisel cutters to deliver low vibration and low kickback to increase performance and durability while providing additional safety to the user.

Q:I have a new 56v Echo chain saw. I've only used it once. The battery lights didn't go on when I got it, but it operated ok. Figured it was still ok. Now when I put it in the charger it shows fully charged on the charger but will not operate.

Q:Is the 56-Volt eFORCE battery compatible with older Echo 56-Volt battery powered tools like leaf blower and lawn mower?

A: Hi there! Thank you for your inquiry. We don't have older 56V units. The 56V line came out in 2022, if you have ECHO battery tools that were purchased before 2022, you probably have the 58V line. If you indeed have the 58V line, batteries unfortunately are not interchangeable with 56V and vice versa. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

The CS400 Replacement

My trusty 13 year old gas CS400 chainsaw refused to start this season. So I decided to look into battery powered chainsaws. After seeing several online reviews of the DCS5000 I decided that it would possibly be a good replacement for the CS400. The 400 always started and it was a pleasure to use. It never failed to do the job. Well, the DCS5000 is a perfect replacement for the 400. I am pleasantly surprised how well it cuts. As they say, "it cuts like a hot knife through butter." It made short work of felling a 6-7 inch tree along with limbing all the branches. It had 3 bars left after that job. I've had to limb and cutup a fallen 6 inch maple after a recent storm. Amazingly, it had 4 bars left after all the cutting. I've done several other jobs without any problems. Hopefully, it will last as long as the 400 and be as problem free.
