AnswerYou will want to make sure the contact cement bond is completely cured. You should follow the adhesive manufacturers instructions on how long it takes to cure after being applied.

although most of the veneer had that beautiful maple look, my sheet had three knotty places where they sloppily applied some wood filler, not even attempt at sanding it out.
perhaps if you were going to cut this up you could avoid the sloppy knots, but i bought a sheet for a table top and it's going back to the store.

I purchased this because I needed to thicken up 1/8''plywood. This did the trick and it also took the curve out of the plywood, so now I have nice straight dollhouse walls and floors! Also, this was my first time applying veneer and I read all the reviews and did some extra research, etc. Just be sure to follow the directions on the can of contact cement. I used a 4'' short nap roller and applied the contact cement on both sides. You have to let this dry because the solvents must evaporate or else the veneer will bubble, which means poor adhesion. I used a cheap plastic 6'' scraper and applied lots of pressure for bonding for each piece. Afterwards,, I trimmed away the excess veneer from around the walls, window and door openings. This part was a little tough because the veneer is double-ply and the ply on the reverse side runs crosswise.I plan on buying this again and highly recommend this product.

Con: There were spots throughout the piece where they must have used filler and those spots would not take the stain. The top I was replacing had looked better than this does. Very disappointed. Pro: the piece was easy to work with and adhered well.

First time using this product. I have very little experience with veneer, but am skilled in carpentry. It came rolled up and flattened quite easily and quickly when rolled out. It can be cut in a variety of ways. Very nice product.
