Questions & Answers

how many batteries come with this mower

Asked by: Mike
Attention... STILL one battery!

What would be the biggest yard recommended for this mower. I have a 1/2 acre city lot.

Asked by: Curious
I use mine on our 1/4 acre property and have to charge it at least once. I do have to deal with a hill though, so that slows me and the mower down.

how well does it cut wet grass

I live near the lake, my grass seems to stay wet most of the day. In shade stays wet all day.
Asked by: callred
This is my first season with the mower. It continuously clogs and I have to stop and remove the grass from underneath the mower. I have tried all three options (mulching, bagging, etc) and none seem to be effective. I have tried mowing in the middle of the day and late afternoon to see if it was the moisture.

Does the mower continue running if you remove the green key while it is running?

I think something funky happened to my Ego mower after running over a long, strong palm leaf. It no longer ramps up to full speed - it immediately starts at high speed. I'm trying to determine if the green key lock was also affected. While the mower is running and I remove the key, it keeps running until I let go of the bail lever. It seems strange if this is normal behavior.
Asked by: MoeR
Regarding concern about leaving key in mower because kids will find it: Mower won't run without battery. I keep the mower folded up, the battery in its charger, and the key strap looped around the bail so I won't lose it. Nobody will be starting that mower by accident. Lock up the charger if you are still concerned.

20 in. 56-Volt Lithium-ion Cordless Battery Push Mower with 4.0Ah Battery and Charger Included is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 1748.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I purchased a 21" Ego mower in March and was so impressed with it that I purchased the 20" model as well, big mistake. There are several issues with this mower that I have a serious problem with. Firstly, unlike the 21" model the 20" has it's power button on a string, rather than being permanently installed. Why Ego did this is anyone's guess but I can tell you that it is a pain as every time you try to unfold the mower for use it gets caught up in the handle. Also, despite having apparently the same size motor as the 21" it does not have nearly as much power and stalls out constantly when mowing taller grass. LOVE the 21", HATE the 20".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Season 2 and Still loving it. I love this mower. I have used this mower for 2 seasons now and it's still performing great. Battery has not degraded one bit. Still getting 45 minutes out of the battery in high grass. Love Your Guys products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Easy Easy I bought the ego+ this morning and was scared I made the wrong decision the whole way home and while I waited for the battery to charge. There is no set up pull it out of the box plug in the charger and charge the battery. After about 45 minutes take the battery and put it in the mower and set the height. Then go mow your lawn. I promise it was that easy and all of my worries were unfounded. I have thick Bermuda grass and the mower cut through it flawlessly and mulched it up perfectly. It was great not having to go get gas and oil and deal with all that mess and smell. If you are on the fence about buying a electric mower don't be. My yard is just under a 1/4 acre and when I was done I still had 25% battery power left. Hope this helps.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 2 stars for the 2 years it worked I have used the mower for two solid years, enjoyed the battery feature ( so does girlfriend ) but this year all of a sudden the battery for my mower and for my EGO string trimmer stopped working on same day. Would easily give 5 stars if product would remain working. With batteries being spendy it's hard to justify continuing using electric lawn products. If I'm the only one with this issue I would like to know. As of now I could not recommend to friends and feel disappointed that I have now for the last two years

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful-PS. EGO, can you make a vacuum/blower? No more Gas cans! Light weight, easy, convenient, batteries charge quickly. Easiest mower I have ever used. If EGO would make me a high-lift blade for the 20 inch mower, I will be in 7th heaven! Then I could mow up all the leaves. The normal blade will suck up spilled grass clippings, but it doesn't have enough suction to clean up all the leaves off your grass, in the fall.

I bought this mower (model LM2000) in October 2014 and since then have had have the mower replaced once and the battery replaced once. Keeping in mind this mower is quite a bit more expensive than the same size gas mower this isn’t very good reliability. I can’t really recommend this product. The batteries only have a three year warranty so I will soon be up the creek if I need a battery. The batteries cost $200. By my calculations I have used the mower less than 75 times over the past 35 months. This mower is great at first but if I were you I would try and read the reviews from people that have used the mower for a few years. Also, if you call the customer service line be prepared to be on-hold for at least 15 minutes. The comments I see left by EGO customer service focus and saying don’t worry if your equipment is broken it is covered under warranty. The thing is we, the customer, don’t want it to break when we’ve only lightly used it. We don’t have time to waste calling customer service, unboxing the new equipment, and disposing of the old equipment. At this point, based on breakage rates it would be appropriate for EGO to extend the warranty of their mower and companion battery.

I enjoyed the mower for a couple of months when it was working and expected a smooth process with my warranty; I was wrong. I expected more for paying so much money. Now I have a mower that stops after mowing for only 20 minutes. To date my issue has not been resolved. If you buy this you should be aware of the following: 1.) EGO has sourced their warranty to a third party; so good luck getting them to fix your issue. 2.) They require you to carry your mower to Home Depot for them to "diagnose" the problem. I don't have time to jump through hoops for that. You've been warned.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Faulty Easily one of the worst lawn products I've ever used. The mower worked for around one day of usage, then suddenly began having power issues. Although the battery that came with the mower is always on the charging dock with full charge, the mower constantly turns off (about every 4-5 steps). Really shouldn't have wasted the money to get the EGO product when a lower value engine lawnmower could do its work 100x better.
