About This Product

NorbTROPIC is a Nutri-Orb, a unique, soft-green light with a specialized spectrum to support plant health and growth. NorbTROPIC A19 style grow light should only be used indoors (home or greenhouse), and how you use it is determined by what you are growing.Growing Low-Light Tropical PlantsPlace light appx. 14 to 16 inches from the top of the plants. As the plants grow, simply elevate the light to maintain this distance. Run Time: 12 hours per day is typical. Increasing duration is not recommended. The idea is to mimic the day length of plants that naturally grow in shade, in tropical areas. A simple timer can be used to turn it on and off, and typically should be set to run appx. 12 hours per day, on at 7 AM and off at 7 PM.

My corn plant bloomed!
I have a number of indoor tropical plants and they thrive but never bloom so I needed a solution. I’m so happy to share that this lightbulb did the trick! The bulb is heavy but normal size. It casts a soft green light to mimic the light tropical shade plants receive. My first experiment was my corn plant. I’ve had the plant for years and it grew to just over 5 feet and, like most corn plants, it never bloomed. I placed it under the lightbulb and after a while I noticed the plant added another foot and bloomed.

Nice plant light!
Great for house plants. We use this light for various plants including a Chinese Evergreen, African Violets, Pothos, etc. It actually puts out lime green looking light. It works well and our plants look nice and healthy. We have had plant lights before, but nothing quite like this one. It has a standard size base and looks just like a standard LED bulb. It is a heavy bulb though, which is surprising.

Does not work for me
I was so excited to add this to my collection of grow lights. I removed an LED light that worked in a 60-watt rafter-affixed pull chain light (my house is 55 years old) above my front loading washer. Less than 30 minutes later, it flashed like a strobe light. My home does not use overhead lighting. I cannot remove my overhead garage light because I need bright light in there.

Pretty green bulb
It looks like a regular white lightbulb, but I was surprised that it’s a bit heavier. It feels substantial and high quality. It screwed into the lamp very easily, and when I turned it on . . . the light was green! The instructions say you’re supposed to leave it on for 12-14 hours per day, and place it 14-16 inches above the plant. All in all, this looks like a great product for an indoor gardener, especially in the winter.

LED Grow Light for indoor plants
The single LED bulb is said to be designed to provide the needed light for indoor growing for houseplants. The bulb has a green hue and is suggested to only us 12 hours a day. The box is listed as for Tropical but I believe it still should work with regular nontropical plants. It will take sometime before the true test is proven. We will be starting the process during this cold winter. More to come as to actual results.
