The Autumn Chiffon can make a hedge but its not going to make a tall one at maturity levels of 2.5 ft high. Their spread is 3 feet, so I would plant them 3 feet apart.
When they say “full sun”, don’t believe them. Mine were exposed all day to sunlight and they are now dead. The leaves started to curl and brown. The branches became brittle. After few months, they died. I called Home Depot and i got my money back.

It looks like Glendale AZ is in USDA zone 9A. The USDA zone range on this plant is 7-9 so yes as far as temperature tolerance you should be good. Make sure the plant is planted in soil that is in the ph range of 5.5-6.5 and that you pay attention to the sun requirements when planting
What is your planting zone. In North Carolina we plant from spring to late fall.

If you are planting a 1 gallon we recommend using a pot that is 5+ gallons to give your new plant plenty of room to grow
