Autumn Chiffon Encore Azalea offers vibrant year-round color to any garden. Autumn Chiffon has light pink blooms with a splash of dark pink speckles in the center. Chiffon is a compact grower bearing huge quantities of flowers, especially in the summer and fall. Unlike many traditional azaleas, Encore azaleas bloom best in full sun, so choose an area of your yard where they can receive at least 4-6 hours of sunlight. Autumn Chiffon works well in foundation plantings or as a low growing hedge. Be sure to plant your Encore Azaleas in acidic to slightly acidic soil to maximize your bloom yield. Fertilize in the spring with a balanced fertilizer after the threat of the last frost has dissipated and feed once more in the summer to help you Encore bloom through fall. Encore Azalea is the world's best-selling multi-season blooming azalea. In many areas of the country, Encore Azalea bloom during 3 seasons of the year-spring, summer, and fall. And, for areas of the country where azaleas don't traditionally thrive, such as those in USDA hardiness Zone 7, you will see a spring or summer bloom, but not a fall bloom before your temperatures drop.

How close can they be planted together to make a hedge?

AnswerThe Autumn Chiffon can make a hedge but its not going to make a tall one at maturity levels of 2.5 ft high. Their spread is 3 feet, so I would plant them 3 feet apart.

AnswersWhen they say “full sun”, don’t believe them. Mine were exposed all day to sunlight and they are now dead. The leaves started to curl and brown. The branches became brittle. After few months, they died. I called Home Depot and i got my money back.

AnswersIt looks like Glendale AZ is in USDA zone 9A. The USDA zone range on this plant is 7-9 so yes as far as temperature tolerance you should be good. Make sure the plant is planted in soil that is in the ph range of 5.5-6.5 and that you pay attention to the sun requirements when planting

Great quality and good value on pricing
We purchased 5 of these azaleas for our front yard. they arrived on time and in very good condition.
Planting was fast as none were root bond in their pots. We are excited about the blooming as they will be beautiful as seen in their pictures for this species.
Thy look great in their new home.

AUTUMN CHIFFON AZALEAS
I purchase 5 of the 2 gal Autumn Chiffon Azaleas and planted them in May of 2015. All but one of them are doing well. (Home Depot Online gave me a gift card to replace the dead plant and I'll replace it in the spring.) It will take a couple years for them to get to a nice hedging size, but they already have lovely blooms even as small shrubs. I love them and can't wait until they reach maturity!
