Gaiters work as intended. When wearing short pants, operating trimmer (Weed Eater), keeps DEBRIS from injuring bare legs. Upgrade?: They get HOT. Vents or screens might allow air circulation, prevent heat build-up. Color? They do not need to be florescent yellow. Maybe gray or brown?

The photo does not show that there are velcro closers; I had a hard time keeping them closed and it allowed rain to enter the openings. If the manufacturer is reading; you should leave the bottom open like a pant leg, have one peice of velcro at the top to make it easy to put on over a boot. Sew the rest of it down like a pant leg to keep out the rain or other wet substances. This would be much more practicle in my opinion and would save you time and money in production cost.
