our concrete block house had crawlspace ventilation openings over which we has half inch steel mesh attached to keep out possums. NOW tho just saw a snake go through under the house. Can this product somehow be affixed to that steel already there?

If you know where the snakes enter you can put the snares webbing across the entrance, and it would trap them. But most likely you have no idea how or where the snakes enter. They could be coming in underground, overhead, or through an open door. But if you figure out where they are coming in, you could put the trap in their path, and it would snare them. Of course, you could surround the barn with them-- not very practical.

The material is 14" high. So to do the install properly I normally leave 2''- 3'' of material on the ground to pin down, and run the remaining 11-12''up the fence to attachment point. I've been using this product for years and all of the snakes have been caught at ground level. This stuff WORKS GREAT!!!! The material is impregnated with a UV protectant which allows exposure to the "elements" around 4 years before getting degraded and brittle. You MUST maintenance the system by keeping it sprayed for weeds to get this type of longevity out of it.
