Q:Is there a version of this product that's rounded on both ends of the return? Can I sand the flat...

Answer This Question
A:Â Hi Brett, You can certainly try to sand the end of the nosing to have a profile. While we do not have a specific double-nosed return, you can most certainly put a radius on each end to get a rounded profile.

A:Â Would be very easy to bullnose the end with a belt sander. Not much material to remove. I cut a 45 on mine and cut the tread back to match.

Answer This Question
A: Hi Adam, thanks for the question. These are intended to be installed flush with the edge of the tread to hide the end-grain of the tread. The nosing on the front should match the nosing of the tread, though it may require some sanding for a perfect fit. Whether one wants to miter cut the front joint to a 45-degree is totally up to the user. It's fine either way, though most purchasers end up installing these flush with the end of the tread. Using wood glue and finish nails are recommended for installation. If you have additional questions, we’ll reply as quickly as we can. Or, you may call our Customer Service Line at 678-455-5188 (M-F, 8-4 ET) where we can assist you with most any question you have. Thank you!

A:Â Yes, no cuts are needed. Only if you need to cut shorter. Also use a couple of nails the glue will not be enough.

Q:Is the 1-1/4" width measured from the start of the bullnose or the widest part?

Answer This Question
A:Â Hi Scott, this measurement is the outside-to-outside measurement of the thickness of this return. In other words, it will match the overhang of the tread nosing on the front. If you have additional questions, we'll reply as fast as we can. Thank you.
