A:Â You need to drill two pilot holes (top & bottom) or (one in center) using a 1/8 inch bit with a countersink adapter. Use 1-1/2' wood screws to attach to the mounting surface (Preferably wood) if into sheetrock you will need to use wall anchors that fit the size of the screw. You can also purchase wood buttons in the hardware department to cover the screw heads or fill with wood filler. See photo

A:Â Hi CJ,
Rosettes can be mounted several ways. The most common method is drilling through the face of the rosette, into drywall with a 2x4 stud behind it. For the most secure attachment, the screws through the face of the rosette must anchor into a 2x4 stud. The holes in the face of the rosette can be plugged with wood plugs. Those are commonly found in the Board/Millwork aisles. If you have additional questions, we'll be glad to help. Thank you!
I know I can relate to my fellow master carpenters when using this product. This is the best product for handrails whether it’s oak, metal, or whatever you choose to use and when you don’t have time to put your router into action, this makes the job a lot quicker and easier.
I think it’s best used for handrails up long staircases as when things happen on the walls to the handrail these rosettes add extra support to keep everything in line.
For the first timers using this product , be sure you have 400 grit sandpaper to sand everything down for a good stain —and I use a satin spray varnish to give it a nice touch. You can’t miss with this one!
