Primed Tapered Baluster is primed white and ready to finish with paint that will match other Stair Parts or decor in your home. It has a tapered design and is made for interior use from 100% fir wood. For best results, use plain rail for tapered top balusters.

        Q:The bottom of these are straight across - is the dowel removable on these so that if you wanted to cut it at an angle you could put it back in to fit on a knee wall, for instance? Thanks!

        A:  Hi ASRG, that's a great question, so thanks for asking it.The pins on the bottom are not removable and would be removed if you cut them as you describe. The work-around is to buy a package of loose dowel pins (ex: item #10055760) and drilling your own holes. It's the same concept as having the pin on the bottom in the first place.             When we moved in the stair railing had 3 different shapes in 11 balusters. These replacements match one of those shapes, are consistant in shape and are straight. Primer coat is good. Looking forward to having a uniform stairway railing.
