A: Yes! This is designed to replace the lock side door jamb! Great Choice!
A: Excellent Purchase!! A standard pine jamb leg and a header will work just fine, you will only need to swap out the lock side jamb with the Everstrike!
A: Hi Mikey95, the “tab” of each plate is inserted into the latch and deadbolt bore holes so it doesn’t protrude into the space between the back of the jamb and the studs of the rough door opening. The screw heads likewise sit within the channel cut into the back of the jamb and thus don’t protrude either. Net result is only the thickness of the plates (1/16”) actual reduces the clearance between the back of the jamb and rough opening. As the rough opening for a 36” wide door should be 38”, you should have at least 3/16” of gap on both sides between the backs of the jambs and the rough opening. Unless your rough opening is narrower than normal you should run into a clearance problem. If you have additional questions, we will reply as quickly as possible. Thank you.
A: Hi Linda, the metal security bar and strike plate are made of galvannealed 16 gauge steel. If you have additional questions, we'll reply as quickly as we can. Thank you!
