Q:What railing piece does this S piece match? I just read in the reviews that Home adroit does not carry a matching railing. Is that correct?

A:  my experience is HD does NOT carry a matching piece of railing for this piece. I bought the railing from a different building products supplier. Matched perfectly.

A:  Hi MWKHANDY, thanks so much for the question. Ordering matching handrail fittings can be confusing, so I'm here to (I hope!) simplify the process. To find the handrail fitting that matches your handrail, look at the second digit in the model # of your handrail. That second digit in the model # of the rail must match the second digit of the model # of the handrail fitting. For example, if your handrail model # is 6210, a matching fitting will have a model # of 72xx. So, if you need an S-Fitting that matches your 6210 handrails, the fitting you would need is a 7247. Also, be sure to order both the rail and fittings in the same species. It can get confusing, to be sure. Just make sure the second digit of your handrail matches the second digit of your handrail fitting. I hope that helps to explain how the process is done. We do stock handrail fittings in 6010, 6210, 6510, and 6710 handrail profiles. If you cannot find what you need, give our Customer Care team a call at 678-455-5188 (M-F, 8am-4pm ET), and we'll help you find what you need. Thanks again for your question, and we wish you the best on your staircase project!

Q:5" centerline is from centerline to centerline for the jog or centerline to outside edge?

        Answer This Question

A:  Hi Terry, thanks for the question. The centerline defines the centers of the two handrails that this fitting will connect. Designed to turn handrails around short walls and attach to wall rails, the centerline of the wall rail and the centerline of the handrail should be 5-inches apart. So your statement "centerline to centerline for the jog" appears to be correct. It is not the centerline to the outside edge. If you have additional questions, we'll reply as quickly as we can. Thank you!

Response from Steve VibertNov 7, 2019
Hi Andrew, thanks for replying. We're sorry that you had trouble finding a matching profile of handrail for this fitting. We actually do have the matching profiles, and there's a key factor in locating it. When finding a matching handrail and rail fitting set, it's important that the second digit in the part numbers match. In this case, the "7247" fitting will have a matching handrail profile of "6210." In the case of this handrail fitting, any handrail with the part numbers 6210R will match this 7247 fitting. For example, Internet #205744882 is the profile of handrail that will match this fitting. If you have any questions, we'll be glad to answer them for you. Give us a call at 678-455-5188 (M-F, 8-4 ET), and we'll assist you the best we can. Thank you. SureWood-LNL

Does not match Home Depot railing so it's useless.
Response from Steve VibertDec 18, 2018
Hi Paul, sorry for the confusion. This handrail fitting only matches 6210 handrail. That handrail is sold online only, and not in Home Depot stores. If you purchased 6010 handrail in a store, look for item #206685728. That may be what you need.

With any handrail profile we sell on HomeDepot.com, remember that the second digit of the handrail model # must match the second digit of the handrail fittings model #. For example, to match 6010 handrails, your fitting model number for that rail would be 7047 fitting.

If you have additional questions, we'll reply as quickly as we can. Thank you. SureWood-LNL
