Techniseal EZSAND is a trusted and proven mix of graded sand and binder that flows smoothly down joints for a fast and effective installation of pavers or slabs on surfaces exposed to normal traffic. Easy to work with, this jointing sand starts to set only a few-minutes after activation and quickly becomes resistant to water erosion (rain, splashes, sprinklers, etc.). It is a budget-friendly polymeric sand for installations carried out in light-duty environments.

Not resistant to ants or weeds
I purchased this polymeric sand when I redid my patio. I pulled up all the pavers, cleaned them, leveled the base and then reset them. I applied the polymeric sand as per the instructions, and tamped it into the cracks with a rubber mallet. They claim this sand is resistant to weeds and ants. Well, it isn't. Within 2 days, the ants were excavating this sand easily, even though it had cured fully. I should have used regular sand, instead of wasting 25 bucks on this stuff.

Don’t buy. Repeat don’t buy
Bought 2 containers of this product we applyed it by direction’s. Did it exactly like it said to. First rain a week later it all washed out. Totally waste of money any time. Home Depot you dropped the ball on this product. Get it off the shelf’s

Sand never hardened
I have tried the EZ Sand on three separate occasions and each time the sand did not harden and washed away at the first hard rain. I had a hardscape professional assist me the third time, as I thought it was user error, but with the same result. He indicated that the product must be defective. (I bought two separate buckets, as I thought I purchased a bad batch.)
It's unfortunate, as I spent a great deal of time preparing the surface and misting each time. Time to try a different brand.

SKIP THE NIGHTMARE
Contractor suggested using this product as joint for newly put in flagstone. Read online reviews and found most of them positive so went with it. Close to $3,000 product was put in and that’s when the nightmare started:
- The product didn’t bond
- Kept being washed away by rain and pushed to the top of flagstone even 2 months later
- Some parts missing joint
- Horrible peeling
- Whole thing needs to be redone
- Weed growing everywhere
- HomeDepot did not even stand by this product

I followed the prep and install instructions. After 4 days I went wash the patio to get it ready for this weekends party. 1/3 of this stuff had been washed away like normal sand. Very disappointed!!

Large sand particles
Only good thing about this product is the reusable bucket. The large Sand particles get in the way of the smaller ones at the top of the bricks and then the gaps are difficult to fill. I had quite a bit of large sand that would not drop between the bricks, I had to remove it and use a different product. The other product is exceptional.

Don't rush it and follow the directions
15 year old patio needed major attention. After pressure washing and blasting out the old polymeric sand we used the Techniseal EZsand to refill the gaps, 1/4-1/2 inches. This product was better than the original and sealed perfectly. The tan color looked a tad gray but matched the tan pavers to a T.

Durable
This is a great product to use when placing pavers in your yard. This one does tend to blow more in the wind then others but it is not a reason not to purchase. It is contently in a bucket instead of a bag which is very helpful and convenient. Water down after leveling your project and wet, it will then turn into a sort of concrete and hold in place.
