Product Overview
EZ-TUBE is a patented precast concrete footing system, consisting of a base section, 1 or more upper sections and a threaded rod anchor to secure it into a single, solid pier-type footing. EZ-TUBE 4 includes 1 each 100 lbs. base section, 3 each. 60 lbs. upper sections and 1 each. 5 ft. anchor rod. It is ideal for areas where the depth of the required footing hole is 36 in.

This made doing the foundations much, much easier. No pouring or mixing concrete or carrying 80 bags of concrete around. The bases weigh around 100 lbs and the sections 60 lbs. The other nice thing was with rain being forcasted every day or every other day, this made planning much easier since once they are in you can just keep going.

My 3star review is not due to the quality of the product, but the practical use of it. I bought 2 of them for a small deck, i wasn't thrilled with the idea of mixing concrete, renting the mixer, etc; when I found this product it looked like a perfect solution. Here are my issues with it: 1) you need to dig a hole of the diameter of the base, around 22in. This is a lot more digging that needed for a 10-12inch footing needed with a wider base. 2) you have to level the bottom of the hole which is at 3ft or more below, not an easy task when hanging with your head down the hole, 3) After you dropped all the blocks and glue them together, there is no chance of aligning or adjusting heights except with the posts mounted on the footings.
Now I prefer the option of dropping a concrete form, level, align, etc "before" pouring concrete. Then you get all footings plumbed and aligned. With the EZtubes you need to compensate the misalignment with posts and beams.
