Eh..
I bought this along with Black Kow to compare and this stuff is full of sticks and other fillers. Spend a little more and buy black kow. I used this to mix and make the better stuff go further.

change for the worst
I have used this product for at least 10 years. I have a good-sized raised bed vegetable garden and buy 2-3 dozen bags every spring and fall. This spring's purchase was disappointing. The bags contain so much more wood chips than before. My beds look like they have been covered with a cheap mulch. The low price of this product is no longer worth the poor quality.

LOVE THIS STUFF
I have a lot of raised beds to fill and with the cost of this product for the base it's the best. I mix this with the Nature's Care Compost and it's coming along perfectly. I didn't get any rocks of any kind in the 60 bags I purchased...and for the cost it's providing with a rich base for my veggies.

I purchased this product about 5 years ago and it was AMAZING! Unfortunately I purchased 170 bags for my project as we have trouble with soil deliveries in our subdivision, so far I have open 8 bags an it is total GARBAGE just large wood chips, peat moss, a little sand, and not even a hint of compost aroma. The bags are noticeable lighter in weight as I have had arm surgery and I’m on weight restriction but I can lift these with no problem. Presently I’m not sure how to return this as we had home depot deliver it, what a disappointment!
This product would be a great value if it was better quality.

While small pieces of bark and twigs are intentional components of our growing media there should not be large pieces of wood or bark in the soil. Our soils are made of composted forest products. Composted forest products provide high organic content and nutrients without the concern for soil compaction which often occurs with topsoil. The coarser material allows for air to reach the roots of the plant which improves plant performance. We offer a guarantee that extends to all of our products. Bag of rocks
Awful stuff with lots of rocks which become potential missles when mowing later. Also includes pieces of plastic trash. This stuff looks like it came from a landfill. Dont waste your money. Spend a little more and get good compost from Black Kow

I don't know what negative reviewers received/expected, but this stuff was exactly what I was looking for. If you think this is to be used as a garden growing soil (like Miracle-Gro or Vigoro) then you are mistaken.
This is a good manure based soil that can be used as an undercoat for garden soil. I didn't find any stones/sticks and am happy with some sand as it delivers better drainage needed for my plants. For the price, I would not hesitate to order again.
