This is a CRT, or counter rotating tiller, therefore, the tines go backwards as you are going forward with the tiller. The tines will never rotate forward.

A real workhorse, the earthquake chews through tough clay soil loaded with rocks. The bigger rocks that block the tines against the chassis can stop the engine, but mostly it just spits them out and keeps going. The tines really hold up, and the cover takes a lot of abuse. Good to probably 10" down, better than most others out there. The tires are great and the rubber is good at pulling it right along. The rims are not super heavy duty, so a very large rock picked up and pulled between the chassis and the rim can bend a rim a little - nothing a sledge won't straighten right out. One pull easy starting. Probably 20 hours on it so far, it's a good worker. Just remember to check the belt tension!

So far, so good
We bought our Victory Tiller over a month ago, but it's rained so much this spring we've had few opportunities to really test it out. We've operated the tiller for about 8 hours so far, not really enough time to give it a fair assessment. However, it has started on the first pull every time and has done a great job of working up the soil that's been dry enough to work. It has the habit of collecting mud on the tines after a while which stops the tiller from pulling itself forward, but that's more due to the constant rain we've had to contend with and not, in my estimation, through any fault of the tiller. The only thing I wish was different would be if you could run the tines in reverse while the wheels continued in the forward direction. On the whole, quite happy with the purchase.

There are many things I like about this tiller, such as ease of start, and overall configuration. It is easy to turn and the handle comes to the right height to me, and I am six foot. The one issue I have with it is that it is a lot of work to till, especially deep, which is where I have been focusing my efforts with my new tiller. The tires don't seem to get a lot of traction, and I end up having to push the tines into the ground to get them to dig, then lift the tines to get the tires to move the tiller forward a few inches, then repeat. I wonder if it is normal to have to do this, or is it just because the tires do not have much traction to pull the tiller forward? Failing this, it seems to be built robust

Far better power and performance than any I ever used before. It tears down 2-3 inches roots without stalling. It will be a very neat to make adapter to make small rows, etc.

Packaged nicely easy to assemble. The free spin versus locked in wheel one small disturbance. Main issue started right up first time the choke fast slow control seems off and tiller died in the first 5 min. managed to start it 4 more times and no matter if I had it in the fast tiller position or the slow idle position tiller dies like there was an issue with the choke. Not one to write a negative review easy but I now have to figure out how to get it back to the store and still till the garden. I just assembled yesterday

I bought this tiller to replace a front tine tiller that was stolen. My old tiller would hop and tend to pull forward, causing control issues. I read a lot of reviews, for front and rear tine tillers. I looked at the construction of tillers that I found in the different stores. The Victory rear tine tiller with reverse was well thought out and solid construction. It is a compact machine with a dependable Kohler 6.5 hp engine. The operation is simple and easy to use. The tiller is well balanced and does a smooth job of tilling. It is easy to control and met my expectations. After the initial setup and checking the fluid levels, the engine started right up. So far the Victory tiller does what I expected from the solid gear driven rear tines. It is a great value for the price.
