What is the difference between the common trip and independent trip versions and why would you use one over the other?
Asked by: Rick321
The “common” trip is used for circuits that have multiple phases to protect the circuit if there’s an issue on one phase the common trip will turn off all phases of that circuit. The “independent” trip is used on circuits that are only have one single phase

This breaker can fit in a GE panel? If your answer is no, do you have a GE quad breaker?

Asked by: Eddie
Hello Eddie, This breaker will not fit a GE panel. Eaton does not sell GE quad breakers since GE is a competitor. Please check with a Home Depot associate so they may reach out to a representative of the GE company who can assist you. Regards, Eaton

Initially I thought there was a problem as the breaker links, especially the outer ones were not engaging simultaneously. Some shifting back and forth got them in alignment - I'd do this step prior to installation. It is always a bit tight pushing a quad breaker into place in a panel against an opposing rack of breakers but once in, the fit is solid. My only remaining question is why does it always seem like these breakers are used even when new? I guess it is just this type of plastic appears worn from the get go.
