Type BR 20 Amp Single-Pole Ground Fault Circuit Breaker

Product Overview

Eaton’s BR Ground Fault Current Interrupters (GFCIs) provide superior safety over a standard electrical outlet in areas where electricity may come into contact with water. GFCIs are required in any application near water such as kitchen countertops, bathrooms, swimming pools, hot tubs, and outdoor receptacles. They immediately break the circuit when electrical current leakage is being detected, reducing the risk of shock and electrocution. Available in 1- or 2-pole.

  • The “panel neutral” conductor connects to the neutral bar, even though the neutral is not included in a 240V load circuit. This connection is necessary to supply a 120V power source to the ground fault sensing circuit
  • Single-pole and two-pole are available to use with varying wire and voltage configurations, making them suitable for different situations

Questions & Answers

Will this breaker work in a Westinghouse panel?

Will this breaker work in a Westinghouse panel?
Asked by: Tom
Hello Tom, Thank you for your question. If your Westinghouse panel is rated 10 kAIC, then you will need Type GFCB. If your panel is rated 22 kAIC, then you will need Type GFCBH. Type GFCBH will is not available on-line or in stores. You will need to request a Home Depot associate to place a special order. If you have additional questions, please call an Eaton customer service representative. The phone number is 877-932-9322. Regards, Eaton

A more expensive option than a GFCI outlet before the circuit leaves the house but it was much easier and convenient to install. Installation was pretty easy; the instructions were simple and clear. The only issue I had was securing the load wire terminal screws, it was a tight spot requiring a wide flat-head screwdriver. I still got the screws tightened. No 'weird' trips at all and I have run some pretty high amp equipment out at the shed. Very pleased with the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good, fast shipping to home. Works great and it is a lot easier than putting in a GFI.
