Yes, ECF underlayment is approved for use with in-floor heating systems when installed following the recommended installation guidelines. For optimal performance, the floor surface temperature should not exceed 81 degrees F (27 degrees Celcuis). We hope this helps and wish you the best with your project!
While ECF is waterproof, it is designed as an underlayment for approved flooring applications—not for use under shower units or shower pans. We know DIYers have come up with creative ways to use our underlayment, but this type of installation is outside our intended applications and would not be covered under the ECF warranty. If you decide to move forward with the installation, we'd love to see the finished results, so please feel free to share photos or call us at 855-810-8922. We're always happy to help. Thank you for choosing ECF, and we appreciate your support!
Then can’t be used for hardwood floors and engineered floors with glue down application.I tried it to glue down and looks terrible ,wasted time ..please remove it application with wood, hardwood and engineered floors asap .
No. ECF underlayment is not recommended for glue-down applications. Using adhesive glues may affect the integrity and performance of the underlayment. The approved installation methods are floating floor and/or nail-/staple-down flooring applications. Feel free to call us directly at 855-810-8922. Thank you for your interest in Eco Cork Foam and good luck with your project!

According to manufacturer guidelines, a Sterling tub should be installed on a firm, level surface or in an approved mortar base to ensure proper support and performance. Eco Cork Foam underlayment is designed for use beneath various flooring types; however, it is not intended as a structural support for fixtures like a tub. If considering this type of installation, please consult the tub manufacturer directly. We hope this helps and wish you the best on your project!
ECF underlayment can be used with vinyl plank flooring that is 5mm and thicker. ECF cannot be used with sheet vinyl. If you have additional questions, call us at 855-810-8922 and good luck with your project!
Great question! ECF underlayment is recommended for vinyl plank flooring but is not recommended for use with vinyl sheet flooring. ECF is not rigid and has some cushion that allows for a small amount of movement. Therefore, it is not ideal for sheet flooring. Let us know if you have any questions at 855-810-8922 and good luck with your project!
ECF underlayment is 1/8 inch thick and will definitely help with minor imperfections and unevenness. However for best results, we recommend leveling the subfloor before installing the ECF underlayment. Please call us for additional questions at 855-810-8922 and good luck with your project!

No, we do not recommend glue with Eco Cork Foam underlayment. ECF is engineered using a proprietary blend of polyethylene and granulated cork and is approved for use with a wood or concrete subfloor which works wonderfully with wood, laminate, LVP, and engineered wood. ECF is NOT approved for use with any glues or adhesives as they could affect the integrity of the product.
Your intended application has never been 3rd party tested and would void the warranty. That being said, ECF is waterproof and the only underlayment on the market with a 6 mil vapor barrier. ECF would not be warrantied for this particular application. Customers often share their projects with us and we have seen some very interesting suggested flooring assembly completed with great success. However, we cannot recommend. If you decide to do it, feel free to share your results once your project is completed and good luck!!
