Asked by HomeOwner2 March 2, 2021Yes, it worked well with the vinyl plank flooring that I used. Most of the cork laminate layers in LVP products are very rigid and not flexible at all. The ECF gives it a little cushioning without it being "squishy". ECF works especially well on concrete floors.
Can you use this as a sound barrier for tile?
Asked by Sarah February 20, 2021I used it under an engineered hardwood planks. It does help with that echo sound that those floating floors typically have. I don't know how well it would work with tile. I used this with my first flooring project and used it on 3 rooms so far I really like this product.

Eco Cork Foam is now approved for use with laminate, engineered/hardwood as well as vinyl flooring greater the 5mm in thickness. The great news is that ECF was created to be used directly on top of your concrete subfloor as it comes with a 6 mil vapor barrier pre-attached. There have been significant advancements in vinyl flooring technology in recent years and because of this, vinyl 5mm or greater in thickness was added to the listing of materials ECF is approved for use with. ECF is approved for use with vinyl flooring that has a thickness of 5mm or greater. The great news is that ECF acts as a fantastic thermal barrier minimizing the transfer of cold concrete temperatures through your flooring. ECF is also waterproof and the only underlayment with a 6 mil vapor barrier pre-attached. This helps keep the concrete alkalinity and moisture away from your new flooring. You can either extend the ECF up the wall slightly or if you intend to lay it flat, then waterproof duct duct can be extended up the wall slightly as well.
