Q:For dimming, do you need a special dimmer made for LED bulbs?
In other words, would these LED bulbs dim using a standard dimmer switch?
That is, one made for standard incandescent bulbs?

Answer This Question
A:Â Yes, the dimming methods for incandescent and LED bulbs are different. A dimmer that is made for standard incandescent bulbs will not be fully compatible with LED bulbs.

Answer This Question
A:Â The warranty is 5 years. On Home Depot.com website Ecosmart warranty says go to Home Depot for replacement/refund. Customer service at Home Depot says contact Ecosmart for replacement. Which is it? First two answer are incorrect and completely useless.

A:Â I am not sure you would have to read the materials included with the bulbs but you should be able to register the bulbs with the company

Poor quality and last only a few months.
Buy at Home Depot 3 boxes with two bulbs each box. About 45 days after installation and 2 of them have stopped working.

Light-ning!
Absolutely thrilled with these amazingly bright bulbs! My entire deck is lit up with just one bulb. ignore the player hating trolls who gave this bulb bad reviews. Even if they don't last for as long as they advertise, they are still very affordable and much cheaper than the large spotlights you would otherwise need. HIGHLY recommend!

Very bright and inexpensive bulbs
We purchased a floor lamp for a dark bedroom that doesn't see a lot of sun, and these were the recommended bulbs so we picked these up at the same time. I'm very happy with the amount of light in that room now, it brightens things up tremendously! We had also looked for comparably priced bulbs of the same wattage at another store before purchasing these - and these were a much better deal. Will consider this brand and type the next time we're in need of light bulbs.

I purchased 5) 2-packs about 8 months ago and I truly love the light they give off for an office setting which is very white and very bright which is what I wanted and need. I am running them in two lamps that holds 5 bulbs and have a switch that has three settings, low, medium and high, all settings work great and there is no noise or flickering of any kind. If you want these for a bedroom or living room then you may want something in the 2700 range instead of the 5000K that these are.
I have read a review on the A19 bulb verses the A21 bulb which unfortunately both have the same SKU number so unless you look at the model number on the bulb or actual shape and size of the bulb you won't know which one you will get in this package. In any case it was recommended to only buy the better A19 which is the version of the SKU I am using, the actual model number on the bulb says "B6A19100WESD02" on it, notice the "B6A19" which is what you should look for.
So up until a week ago all 10 bulbs have been working flawlessly but now I have two bulbs that have failed and no longer will light up on the lamp I use everyday. I wanted to get a replacement but my local store no longer has them in stock but they can be shipped to my store. Before I pay again I wanted to look into the 5 year warranty listed on the original packaging.
Here is what I found at the Home Depot Ecosmart warranty page:
"Guaranteed to last 5 years based on 3 hours use per
day, 7 days per week. If this bulb does not last 5 years
after date of purchase (based on 3 hours per day / 7
days per week) due to a defect in materials or
workmanship, please bring the defective bulb and a
receipt indicating proof of purchase to any Home
Depot store. The Home Depot will provide a
replacement or, at our discretion, a store credit for the
value of the original purchase price."
I was surprised that there are quite a few negative reviews here about this bulb with no mention of the 5 year warranty as being available to them, the biggest complaint being that the bulb burned out prematurely yet no one talked about getting it replaced under the warranty. So hopefully this review will help others who have a bulb burn out. I also posted the warranty question to this page so that it can be answered for others to see.
Here is the direct PDF link to the warranty:
http://contentgrid.homedepot-static.com/hdus/en_US/DTCCOMNEW/fetch/Global_Assets/ECO-WARRANTY-2018.pdf
So for me two bad apples after 8 months is acceptable since I will be able to replace it for free under the 5 year warranty. I will continue to buy these bulbs in the future as they are one of the best I have ever used when it comes to light output that costs so little to operate compared to an incandescent and is so cool to the touch so the room does not heat up like incandescent bulbs do.

These lights are bright! I used these lights in my garage to help make it easier to find things and save money on electricity by switching to LED. With these new lights it's like daytime in my garage. I would highly recommend.

These are bright white, lots of great light, and the A19 size fits just about anywhere. Two interesting issues with these particular LED dimmable lamps: (1) the non-standard (or "new design") pin contact in the center does not perfectly fit the mating contact in my 50 year-old triple-lamp family room ceiling fixtures. So, in order to make sure I had a solid contact (which I was not, because some of the lamps were intermittent), I had to add a small bump of solder to the center pin contact on each lamp to insure a good electrical contact. It's not the lamp's fault, as the contact in the fixture is not spring-loaded, but is instead a 1/4" x 1/4" brass piece that is flat in the socket. (2) The second issue with the dimmable design is that the dimming curve is not consistent across all lamps. Full brightness is full brightness, of course, on all lamps. But, if you are dimming them, the relative brightness at a dimmed setting is highly variable from lamp to lamp. I'm using a new Lutron Decora dimmer designed for LED lamps. So, if the relative dimness level consistency matters to you (kitchen, family room, living space) and you are planning on having a lot of lamps in parallel for the space (I have nine), you might consider buying almost twice the lamps to try first in hopes of getting most of them to match each other at lower level. This was never a problem with incandescent, of course, but is a brightness consistency problem with these LED lamps and their electronic power supply. Finally, I hope these LED lamps last a long time.

Not all LED bulbs are the same!
After reading and comparing all the specs I purchased a few of these based on the economical price.
In a side by side comparison these bulbs put out less light than name brands that rate their bulbs at 700 lumens.
CREE bulbs rated at 1400 lm look like 1400 lm
GE bulbs rated at 700 lm look like 700 lm
EcoSmart bulbs rated at 1680 lm look like 600 lm
I don't know how this company gets away by publishing these specs but it is highly deceitful!
