This particular bulb was recommended to me by my Opthalmologist. Being bright white and with a light appearance of 3,000 K makes it the perfect level of lighting for reading, and I found that it's absolutely excellent. Quite bright, and makes reading anything - book, mobile phone, laptop, etc., much easier. I absolutely plan to buy more of these for future use. Of course, like most excellent products, the company will probably discontinue them.

Product doesn't last
The box claims "last 10 years- 11,000 hours *" back side of the box clarifies that this is "based on 3 hrs average use a day". The LED design apeals to the green buyer but these bulbs are engineered to be replaced, destine for the landfill. I've been marking each bulb with the date of installation and you get about 1 to 2.5 years out of each unit. Sadly I still have incandescent bulbs in my house that are out lasting their LED successors, operated by the same light switch. I've been marking the date on each bulb when I install them to track the life. I had been collecting the failed units in a box but my wife threw them out :(. Anyway, these bulbs do not last. Landfill products keep our economy moving at the expense of future generations.

Very bright and inexpensive bulbs
We purchased a floor lamp for a dark bedroom that doesn't see a lot of sun, and these were the recommended bulbs so we picked these up at the same time. I'm very happy with the amount of light in that room now, it brightens things up tremendously! We had also looked for comparably priced bulbs of the same wattage at another store before purchasing these - and these were a much better deal. Will consider this brand and type the next time we're in need of light bulbs.

I have 15 of these installed in enclosed dome fixtures throughout the house, all on Lutron Maestro C-L dimmers. The 3000K color temp is closer to halogen than 2700K "soft white" LED and is noticeably less drab/depressing. 60W equivalent wasn't bright enough to usefully illuminate rooms through the frosted glass of my fixtures, while 100W equivalents are generally not available with an enclosed fixture rating. These are the sweet spot in brightness for frosted fixtures and are rated for fully enclosed use. Six months in none have failed, but we frequently use them dimmed which likely prolongs their life. I do wish these were available with CRI 90 or above, but no other 3000K bulbs are offered at the store at 1100 lumens. The nearest equivalent from CREE is available in-store only in 2700K or 5000K. You can get the CREE bulbs in 3000K but only by special order. (If you're picky about light quality, CRI 90+ is worth it!) There seem to be two designs in circulation with noticeably different dimming performance. I have a 50/50 mix of both even though the boxes and SKU were the same. Some start out extremely low (a good thing) and have smooth, consistent dimming all the way up. Others start out much higher at maybe 10%-15% brightness (still okay but not as great) and have a jump in the curve maybe 1/3 up. Because they come in packs of two, and my dome fixtures use three bulbs, I had to swap bulbs back and forth among the fixtures to get all three in each fixture dimming the same. At full brightness they look the same, but they differ as they are dimmed to where you might think a bulb is burned out. Evidently there are two designs and/or two suppliers. Overall I am happy with them, but wish I could get slightly better for a few extra dollars locally.

I purchased 5) 2-packs about 8 months ago and I truly love the light they give off for an office setting which is very white and very bright which is what I wanted and need. I am running them in two lamps that holds 5 bulbs and have a switch that has three settings, low, medium and high, all settings work great and there is no noise or flickering of any kind. If you want these for a bedroom or living room then you may want something in the 2700 range instead of the 5000K that these are. I have read a review on the A19 bulb verses the A21 bulb which unfortunately both have the same SKU number so unless you look at the model number on the bulb or actual shape and size of the bulb you won't know which one you will get in this package. In any case it was recommended to only buy the better A19 which is the version of the SKU I am using, the actual model number on the bulb says "B6A19100WESD02" on it, notice the "B6A19" which is what you should look for. So up until a week ago all 10 bulbs have been working flawlessly but now I have two bulbs that have failed and no longer will light up on the lamp I use everyday. I wanted to get a replacement but my local store no longer has them in stock but they can be shipped to my store. Before I pay again I wanted to look into the 5 year warranty listed on the original packaging. Here is what I found at the Home Depot Ecosmart warranty page: "Guaranteed to last 5 years based on 3 hours use per day, 7 days per week. If this bulb does not last 5 years after date of purchase (based on 3 hours per day / 7 days per week) due to a defect in materials or workmanship, please bring the defective bulb and a receipt indicating proof of purchase to any Home Depot store. The Home Depot will provide a replacement or, at our discretion, a store credit for the value of the original purchase price." I was surprised that there are quite a few negative reviews here about this bulb with no mention of the 5 year warranty as being available to them, the biggest complaint being that the bulb burned out prematurely yet no one talked about getting it replaced under the warranty. So hopefully this review will help others who have a bulb burn out. I also posted the warranty question to this page so that it can be answered for others to see. Here is the direct PDF link to the warranty: http://contentgrid.homedepot-static.com/hdus/en_US/DTCCOMNEW/fetch/Global_Assets/ECO-WARRANTY-2018.pdf So for me two bad apples after 8 months is acceptable since I will be able to replace it for free under the 5 year warranty. I will continue to buy these bulbs in the future as they are one of the best I have ever used when it comes to light output that costs so little to operate compared to an incandescent and is so cool to the touch so the room does not heat up like incandescent bulbs do.

These lights are bright! I used these lights in my garage to help make it easier to find things and save money on electricity by switching to LED. With these new lights it's like daytime in my garage. I would highly recommend.
