    Q:Why isn't it clear in your packaging / instructions to leave that plastic piece in place????? That is sooo irresponsible of the manufacturer to not state that on the box somewhere. If you don't keep the plastic piece on the bulb, it could cause a hazard

              Too long for my needs, but maybe not for yours
              I have a light fixture I purchased from Home Depot that didn't come with bulbs. The specifications claimed this bulb would fit, but it was too long for the globe to fit back in place. So I'm sure it's a nice bulb, and it's probably more likely a design flaw with the light fixture than the bulb itself being out of spec that caused my issue.
