In my opinion, since the bulb is rated at 4 watts, it will have no issue working in a 25 watt fixture. Remember that the 40 watt detail represents the wattage used by a standard filament bulb for the equivalent light output. Also, the heat generated by the LED bulbs shouldn't be an issue, either.

I was looking to replace another type of LED lamp that would provide more even light. This one looked different and seemed to have a wider distribution of light in a downward direction. I was not disappointed when I switched. This lamp also did away with the driver section being above the LED's which will reduce heat and increase life.

These put off a good amount of light and are a true soft white. I got them to go in a new pendant light where the bulbs are very exposed and they look great!

Too tall. The bulbs work, with a nice warm color temperature, seem quiet, and brighter than the allowed incandescent for less watts. They are just about 1/4 inch taller than the original incandescents with the same style number. It is a very tight fit in my fixture. I had to carefully install the cover.

I originally used 21- 25 watt incandescent bulbs in five locations for a total power consumption of 525 watts. I bought the 40 watt vintage style LED bulb which provides so much more light and uses less than 84 watts total. I had a minimum of 4 bulbs at each location so my very old dimmers work well with these lights, very pleased with the results. Wish they were a little cheaper, but these are the best price I could fine.

Turned out way better than expected. Took up the regular halogens to replace blown out halogens not knowing they stocked up on some new LED's. I saw those and immediately put back the halogens. These are bright!! I replaced all of them with the LED's. I strongly recommend.

A FOOL's DESIGN DECISION at Ecosmart ruined the bulb design. Unless you plan to never never actually see this bulb, don't believe the good ratings. As anyone whose been around the block a few times knows, these small globe bulbs are designed for common use as *naked* bulbs that are HIGHLY visible. Many are used just a foot or two from people's faces at make-up vanities and bathroom mirrors. They are supposed to be *plain* (pure) white elegant bulbs. Instead, the top of each bulb (which normally faces people from two feet away) has roughly a square inch or six square cm of densely packed text. It looks almost a square bar code! Bulb designers are usually smart enough to print on the back side of the globe near the metal or print nothing at all on the bulb. The people at Ecosmart plastered dense, black text over the top quarter of the bulb. A row of these looks like an technical manual, not a nice form of even lighting. Also, Ecosmart does not want you to realize this when you buy them. They designed the package so you cannot see the top of the bulbs, but (strangely) the package lets you see pretty much every square millimeter of the base. Shame on them. How does any person with a sense of aesthetics consider this a good design? Would you like the writing on the back of your white china moved to the top side of the plate? No? Then don't buy these bulbs. It's a similarly foolish ruination of a purely elegant plain white design. The attached picture shows this. Trust me, it looks worse in reality.
