Customer Reviews

60-Watt Equivalent Spiral Non-Dimmable CFL Light Bulb Soft White (2-Pack) is rated 2.4 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from These DO NOT LAST- Buy Cheap, Get Cheap The ads for these bulbs talk about 7 years of service, but my experience with them is nothing like that. I write the installation date on the base of all of the CFLs I use, as I've found that their service lives are substantially shorter than advertised or, in the case of older bulbs, guaranteed. I'm looking at one of these bulbs that I installed on 8/10/2012. This bulb burned out yesterday 5/20/13 and the other one of the pair has already failed. While I've never seen the 7 year service that many CFLs tout, less than one year of service before failure hardly makes them economical for the price. Also note that the service for these bulbs, a bathroom vanity was in my view average service. I've had better luck using the various name-brand bulbs, that cost a bit more but yield much better service life. Avoid these crummy bulbs. Don't be fooled into thinking you're buying a less expensive alternative to name-brands, and get what you pay for with the higher priced, but much more reliable and cost-effective name brand alternatives.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 2 bulbs failed within 10 months of use Very dissapointed in the life of these bulbs - they are advertised to last 8,000 hours with a 7 year warranty. Mine failed in less than 10 months after less than 2,500 hours of use - in fact they failed in less time than the incandescent bulbs they replaced. Ensure that you note the date of purchase, date of installation and retain the receipt in order to make a warranty claim.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Low quality this light bulb lasted less time than the regular bulbs, in fact i installed new vanity lights, i bought the Ecosmart bulbs and put them in one set of vanity lights and on the other side i installed the old incandescent light bulbs that i took out of the old vanity set. i did this two years ago, the old incandescent bulbs are still going and they are at least 9 years old since that is how long we have owned our home, this is the second time the ecosmart bulbs have failed in two years

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ordered these bulbs to go in my outside light fixtures... ordered these bulbs to go in my outside light fixtures on my house- put them in about 2 weeks ago- so far working good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not that soft The bulb is designed to be soft, but compared to the other "soft' CFLs I have in my house, this is noticeably whiter. Not as much blue as the day light but definitely white

Rated 2 out of 5 by from died after 4 months i thought these were supposed to last 7.3 years. one died after 4 months of daily use as a garage light (on at dusk, off at dawn). gives off nice light, and looks better than the corkscrew ones, but i won't be buying this brand again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A touch whiter than tan This bulb is slow to brighten, perhaps an extra 15 seconds. I have no issues with that -- I don't need instant gratification. And I agree with the other posters that it is a bit whiter than the soft beige of some of the CFLs with 'warm white' color. But I was looking for something a bit closer to daylight and not too beige, so this bulb was perfect for me. I get a bit more than 2 years out of the bulb (write the install date on the base with a sharpie) with about 3-5 hrs/day use. Total cost of ownership is at breakeven at 3 months -- so I'm pleased. The frosted globe makes the 'harseness' and glare of the naked spiral a thing of the past -- I can look right at it without wincing. Overall, I'm happy. They sure do save money and heat over the incandescent jobs and don't take 4 years for breakeven like the LED bulbs do. I think they are safer with the globe around them, too.
