Good product but packaging needs help
This ice maker works fine but the packaging of the item needs to be improved by the manufacturer. The rear foot and back was damaged upon arrival.

Just as advertised
The icemaker arrived on the day promised in perfect condition although the delivery company delivered it upside down. I unboxed the unit and let it sit for 24 hours before installing it. The installation we chose is a free standing one so it was just a matter of hooking up the water line and plugging it in. It wasn't long before the first batch of ice fell into the bin. We are extremely pleased with this unit as we are never without ice now. I recommend it.

Great ice maker!
I really like this ice maker better than our old one that needed a drain and was very loud. This one can fill the removable bucket of ice overnight and it's very quiet. I rarely hear it making the ice. I think it's more sanitary because I can remove and clean the bucket much easier than the ice filling the whole unit. The price was good, too. Installation was easier with this model as well.

Short life - absolute garbage
Ours was in a weekend place, so it didn't get used all the time. We would lift the bar to stop icemaking when away, when we would come back, it was a block of ice and the inside of the box was full of frost.
We thought maybe we'd empty it and turn it off. Next time we came down, flipped the power switch and the fan came on. No icemaking, not getting cold.....IT LASTED LESS THAN 2 YEARS. AVOID THIS PIECE OF JUNK! I'll never buy another Edgestar product ever....total waste of money.

Bad purchase
Worst investment I ever made. Every time our electricity goes out I had to replace the water valve. I have been through 4 water valves. The ice also melts into a large block of ice every time. Total waste of 1,000

Absolute piece of junk
We’ve had our ice maker for about 18 months and it has never gone more than 4 weeks without a major issue. Most often, we will open it up to see that the ice has melted and frozen into a solid block. Often several cubes will get stuck in the tray which stops it from filling. It is in a new addition which is humidity and climate controlled and we had a plumber inspect it after installation to ensure it was set up correctly. This total waste of money now sits empty.

BEWARE
Had the unit for 2 years, started leaking water into the bucket and then just quit working. Called the company we bought it from and was told we needed a new module. Waited from September to April to receive part. Had it installed and still didn't work. They send another part in the hopes a new valve would work. Nope. Still nothing. Now we found out the compressor is bad and we need a new one. I now am the proud owner of a thousand dollar piece of kitchen art.

Crapped out within 1 month of "warranty" but 8 months after install
I am highly annoyed that the icemaker has stopped working! we bought it in Feb 2022 but it did not get installed until June 2022. It was sort of loud and frequently frosted over making it impossible to get ice, but the final straw was when about 3-4 weeks ago it just stopped doing anything. It is useless and we will be looking for another ice maker and seeking a refund for this one. Very disappointing overall.
