AnswersI just installed 12 shutters on New Fiber Cement Siding, the package states to drill 1/4 hole, and then plug the fastener into it. I did exactly that and the shutters are hanging fine. FYI Push in by hand through the vinyl shutter first and into the exterior wall, then lightly tap with a hammer. Hitting them hard or with out lining up the fastener with the hole, will damage the fastener where you can not use it, once it bends, its trash....
What drill diameter do you recommend for installation?

AnswersThe instructions I have that came with new shutters and use the same Shutter-Lok's Fasteners say to drill a 1/4" hole. That is what I did and they worked perfect.

Exactly what was needed to repair shutter -- I was teaching my son how to do the repair and he pounded the fasteners in too far which made the shutter bend/warp. Cut the fasteners and redid the project to perfection. Just tap in lightly, carefully, to flush mount!
