What's the clearance gap on the back side of the bracket?

Is this strong enough to support a Pergola and can it be fastened with screws rather than glued only?
Great question! Our PVC brackets are designed for decorative applications since they are non-functional. Our PVC line is modeled after the styles we currently offer in wood, and since the brackets are made from solid wood, they can support some weight if properly installed.
