Q:What kind of brackets/mounting hardware should I buy to use these on my fireplace (to support my wooden beam mantel)?

A: Thank you for showing interest in our products! I am happy to assist you with any product questions you may have. This specific Diane bracket is great to use on mantels as they are load bearing and can be installed easily. Since the bracket will be used to support the wooden beam, make sure that you use wood glue as well screws to secure the brackets in place. They are load bearing and can be installed by applying wood glue to the installation areas (top and or back) and then screw the bracket to ensure durability. You can either toenail the corbel from the sides, screw straight through the corbel or screw through the wall from behind. I purchased 4 of these to use on different projects in my home . The wood on all of them on the middle curved portion was wavy but were good enough to go ahead and use. Others had minor flaws that I corrected with wood filler . Overall they were Ok !
